My Goals:
To lose 70 pounds and gain freedom over pain!

My Program:
Decreasing total calories and eating a balanced diet with more fruits and veggies and less processed foods. Hope to add exercise with my doctor's help.

Other Information:
I'm an avid reader and knitter when I get free time away from my home daycare job.
Dh and I are involved in a Disaster Relief feeding operation and have helped in Florida and Biloxie after hurricanes Ivan, Jean and Katrina and Greensburg, Ks after a tornado.

Hi there, Buddy. I do see that I haven't been to your page in awhile and that's a total shame, but will try to make up for it, while I'm here now! My knee replacement is a total success and I hope that yours is too. It feels like such a part of me, that I don't even think of it anymore, unless I use it to crawl on top of the bed or get down to weed or on the floor to play with the dogs or elsewhere, with using it. I mainly don't like to kneel and put it solid on any surface. I haven't tried it on a real large sturdy pillow. That might work. It doesn't hurt, but it sure makes me feel the pc. of metal that's in there. So I try to avoid all ways of how I could use it like that. I've put most of my weight back on so that doesn't feel so good and I hate looking in a mirror these days. My Rheumy doesn't want me to take good, long walks anymore, because of hurting my RA feet more. Of course, this extra wt. doesn't help my feet either. So I'm trying to get back on the recumbent bike, but that's not working that great either with my chronic pain in so many places. How about you with pain? I'm typing this with one dog's head on my lap. HA! I love it. It just makes it tougher to type, but so well worth it! Have a great week ahead!

Ha, that is quite funny, but some people actually respond that way too, so you're not totally out of it. emoticon I'm sorry about your cont'd pain and swelling. I guess we all heal at our own speed, don't we? It's so good that you're listening to your body with feeling your other knee and hips with the elliptical. I sure felt it with my hips on the recumbent bike yesterday, so I had to adjust how I was sitting and that helped. I noticed that the pedaling was so squeaky. Ha! That goes to show you that I haven't been on it for a good amt. in a long time. Oh yes, we love our doggies and our flowers too! Our dog, Hope, is our 2nd dog to have in the house. And oh my, we sure can get all the closer to them, I have found out! I think my husband and I are hooked now, we have to have them by our side the rest of our lives. I want more of a lap dog next time I think. Of course, the bigger ones can lay their head on our laps too! I love it! Have a great day, buddy, and you're normal afterall. Ha!! emoticon emoticon
PS...I'm sorry you lost your doggy. They sure become such a part of us! You'll have to post your puppy pictures when you get yours! emoticon

You have such a great attitude, thanks for that. My progress has slowed WAY down and it gets tiresome. The doctor did say it would do that but after 5 months I'm so tired of pain and swelling. I get lots of stairs today, laundry is downstairs and it's actually a good workout. Sometimes I do my elliptical too but have to be careful of my other knee and hips.
We lost our choc lab before Christmas so now have an orange tabby who is precious. Hope to get another puppy soon. The house just isn't a home without them, ya know?

Hi and thanks for your comment on our beloved Hope, doggy. She'll be three this coming March and her breed is 1/2 English Springer Spaniel and 1/2 Pit Bull. She's still the love of our life. She loves it on our dairy farm. Oh ya, she loves to chase a cat when she gets a chance, so they try to keep away from her! Ha! She lives in the house with us, but also loves it outside, especially in the summertime. In the winter too, but it can get so cold up here in MN, that we try to watch that she's not out for long. She's quite short-haired. She has the marking of a Spaniel, but the chest especially, of a Pit Bull. I'm glad that you're walking now with your knee. Each time we're doing that, we get stronger and stronger. We'll get up to normal eventually. I still take stairs kind of funny, especially going down, but that will come too, I know. I try to inspire everyone on here except for myself it seems, these past 2 years! emoticon So I'm going to have to start to take care of myself too.
