I am so glad that I found SparkPeople! I first joined in mid January 2008. I did GREAT!! Now, here I am again January 2010. I slacked for a year so, now I'm back! I'm not at my original starting weight but I gained some back.

Well, this is why I am here.....PICTURES...That's all! I didn't really see myself as that over weight except when I saw pictures of myself. I kinda thought that this is just how I was going to be and that after having my kids I would never be very thin again! Now I know better!

Seeing other SparkPages made me realize that this is not permanant! The show Biggest Loser helped a lot as well. No matter how large people are, they still manage to really lose a lot of weight. I should be able to do it too.

I am so grateful that this is a free site! I did belong to a gym and may join again but I didn't really have the extra money to get a lengthy membership. Weight Watchers is expensive in my opinion and so are most other weight loss centers. This is perfect! SparkPeople has helped me in many ways and I can see that my lifestyle is changing.

I am getting more confident! I am completing challenges here on Spark. I'm more active and doing more things. I feel better about myself and I know that being overweight is not a permament thing. I can find ways to lose weight and eat healthier. It's all good!

****** TIPS FOR OTHER NEW MEMBERS....
Welcome to Spark! I can give you a few tips that have really helped me so far!...

~1.Watch "SUPER SIZE ME" video. This has helped me to avoid Fast Food! ***** This was eye opening! ****** Please watch it if you can.
~2. Go to SparkPages here at Spark and check out the motivators listed. I am so encouraged by the weight loss of these members.
~3. Log your food and exercise...It's amazing how this really helps! If you start to slack here, you may start to slack in other areas...This has happened to me!
~4. Read something on this web site every day... I've learned so much!
~5. Try and earn SparkPoints....you will see progress by doing so!
~6. Keep track of your water intake...at times this can be hard but keep trying!
~7. Two of my favorite Member Motivators so far are BEMORESTUBBORN and GI..GI..GINA! I think they wouldn't mind if you checked out their Sparkpages! They are truly an inspiration to me!
~8. Motivational Quotes are a great help when I'm feeling lazy. They're listed under "Healthy Lifestyle".
~9. The "Restaurant Nutrition Index" is is an eye opener! It's listed under all my favorites. I try to use this whenever we are planning on going out to eat! You can see which foods are higher in calories and fat grams before you order so you stay within your goal. It's about making better choices. I didn't use it once when I went to Fazoli's and I was bummed!
~10. If you're crunched for time as far as working out goes, check out my 4/5/08 blog entry - High impact - short workouts! It might help. If you can check with a personal trainer about these types of workouts, do so. Also, check out the short workout videos here at Spark.

My Goals:
My goals are to lose some weight by being more active, watching what I eat and drinking more water. Keep moving, set goals and get things done! I can do it!


My Program:
1. Portion control!

2. Drink at least 5-8 cups of water daily.

3. Be more active!

4. Just don't sit there!

I'm thinsin2008 and live in Wisconsin. I'm married and a mother of two. I love to spend time with my kids and my Husband. I love antique shopping and flea markets. I love to read and especially love both historical fiction and nonfiction. I love the Antiques Roadshow and most other PBS programs. I live in the country and own Alpacas and Miniature Llamas.
