My Goals:
Originally, my goal was "I would like to get to my goal weight of 155 and develop lifestyle habits that will enable me to maintain that weight." I reached my goal and actually appeared in PEOPLE mazazine and on the ELLEN show with two of my spark buddies! But I have found that reaching my goal weight is not the end of my story. It takes the same consistency and commitment to maintain that weight loss, and I still need the support of SPARK PEOPLE to keep it up.

My Program:
I am strength training at least twice a week and doing at least 30 minutes of cardio on most days. My favorite "long" cardio is cycling. I try to get in a long ride (25-40 miles) at least once each weekend.

Personal Information:
I started back to school last August and have found the stresses of being a student can undermine my weight loss success. I don't have the time to exercise as much as I used to (I used to get in at least an hour a day!). It is so easy to choose less healthy foods (like crackers from a vending machine) rather than planning ahead, shopping for, and preparing healthy meals and snacks. But it really is worth the effort because I feel better when I eat better.

Other Information:
I have found that the principles and behaviors that lead to weight loss success lead to success in other areas: Being consistent. Making good choices most of the time. Having a positive attitude. Tracking your goals. Reaching out and helping others. Seeing new behaviors as a lifestyle. Doing the right thing instead of the easy thing. Giving up on the idea of magical or instantaneous success. Realizing "it takes what it takes."

Hi,
I am doing ok. Not too bad. I am home because of a "snow day", but we have had very little snow so far. How is the fitbit doing? I keep hearing comments about it and wondered if it was worth anything, I have been doing the short videos from the bootcamp. It has been a good way to get my body moving again. They are at my pace at this point. Maybe if I keep doing them for a few weeks I will be able to get back to the video without hurting myself. It is hard to believe we change the clocks in a few days. That should help! emoticon
