Losing Weight is Hard, Being Fat is Hard, Choose Your Hard !!

I am changing the way I live, and having fun doing it.

I started THIS journey on 5/16/09, but it's not my first weight loss journey. You name it, I've done it. OK - I'll name a few of the things I've done in my quest to successfully lose weight:

* Weight Watchers - more times than I can count
* Lindora - medically supervised starvation
* Hypnosis - puhlease
* Atkins - gross
* Jenny Craig - double gross

I started THIS journey on 5/16/09, but it's not my first weight loss journey. You name it, I've done it. OK - I'll name a few of the things I've done in my quest to successfully lose weight:

* Weight Watchers - more times than I can count
* Lindora - medically supervised starvation
* Hypnosis - puhlease
* Atkins - gross
* Jenny Craig - double gross

I've spent untold amounts of money on these ventures - more $$ than I care to remember.

They were ALL successful! I lost weight EVERY time!

So, why am I back in this situation again? Because each time I successfully lost weight, there came a point in time when I chose to STOP eating right and STOP exercising. This time it's forever!!

In the beginning of 2009 I wanted to have weight loss surgery. I decided that I was tired of losing & gaining and losing & gaining. I thought obesity surgery would solve all my problems, and I would be able to lose weight once & for all if the size of my stomach was drastically smaller.

I knew I wouldn't qualify for the lap-band, so I consciously made a decision to throw all caution to the wind and eat as I pleased. I quickly packed on 25 lbs in 5 months, and got my BMI up to 37.0. I asked my doctor to refer me for Obesity Surgery, and my insurance company denied it. The basis for their denial was that my BMI wasn't 40 and I didn't have secondary medical problems. I begged them to reconsider.

Thank God I came to my senses and decided to put a stop to the madness, otherwise I may have continued to pack on the weight until I reached a BMI of 40!

Counting calories & exercising daily has become a part of my life, and I've finally accepted the fact that this WILL be my lifestyle until my dying day. I'm not "naturally thin", and will always have to fight the battle of the bulge!

My Goals:
I plan to lose 100 lbs in a year!!

Start (5/16/09) - 250 lbs
Weigh#1 (6/12/09) - 237 lbs.
Weigh#2 (7/10/09) - 229 lbs.
Weigh#3 (8/7/09) - 224 lbs.
Weigh #4(9/4/09) - 219 lbs.
Weigh#5 (10/1/09) - 214 lbs.
Weigh#6 (10/30/09) - 213 lbs.
Weigh#7 (11/20/09) - 211 lbs.

My Program:
Striving every day to eat 1200 - 1400 calories & drink 8+ glasses of water. I exercise EVERY chance I get - hopefully once a day.

This weight-loss journey is a very important part of my life, but it will not consume my life. I'm a wife & mother first. If I can't exercise, then I just deal with it and make plans to fit exercise in my life the next day.

Other Information:
My Motto: Don't give up what you want MOST for what you want NOW.

I have this posted on the fridge, on my bathroom mirror, in my car, etc. It's a great reminder to make choices NOW which will produce the results I want MOST !!

Beautiful Woman Award! Once you've been given this award, you have to paste it on the wall of 8 women who deserve it. If you receive more than 3, you know you're really beautiful! If you break the chain, nothing will happen, but it's always good to know someone thinks you're beautiful inside and out"
