What would you attempt, if you knew you could not fail?

My story is like many others...I could say time has not been good to me, but the reality is *I* have not been good to me. I was relatively athletic through my teen years, but once I entered college and stopped participating in competitive sports I started to gain weight.

The past 2 years have been a roller coaster of ups and downs. I got into sprint triathlons and participated in annual 5ks and then last year hit. I could give you every excuse in the book, but the reality is I ...

The past 2 years have been a roller coaster of ups and downs. I got into sprint triathlons and participated in annual 5ks and then last year hit. I could give you every excuse in the book, but the reality is I just stopped working towards my goals. I missed out on my triathlons and 5ks and ballooned to that dreaded number: 3-0-0.

I'm here, more humble than ever...realizing now how I can't JUST focus on exercise to lose weight, but I've got to commit to adjusting my eating style to make this thing work.

To make this work, I can't see this as a failure, but an opportunity. I know I still have fight inside me.

2013 Goals:
Sunburst 5k fitness walk - Done in 55 minutes
Ideal Beach Triathlon Super Sprint- Done 1:11:03
Eagle Lake Triathlon Super Sprint- Done 1:13:16
Niles Triathlon Super Sprint - Was Canceled
Get back into the 200s-

My Goals:
It's simple for me:
Maintain a lifestyle that says I want to be healthy while having fun.

My Program:
The only way I lose weight and maintain a healthy lifestyle is by finding ACTIVE activities to enjoy. If my leisure time includes stuff to make me move AND have fun then I'm set. My favorites: water aerobics, training for a super sprint triathlon, unique fitness classes, family activities with my husband and dogs.

I totally agree with decompressing - I used to enjoy my morning drive. I tend to roll out of bed and hit the road, so it gave me time to drink my coffee, listen to NPR and basically just wake up. The drive home was never fun - I always just wanted to be home already and that hour drive was dreadful. Now, I dread driving to work because I wonder if it is going to be a good day. Am I going to have to tiptoe around or not? I'm tired of working in a place where I feel like any minute they are going to scream at me. At this point I try not to interact with my bosses or practice manager if I don't have to and that's a bad way to exist! What I find really exciting about this new place is that it is 10 min from DH's work, 25 min from home. Even after an exhausting day I know I'll be home in less than 1/2 an hour! yay!
