I "stay the course" by not giving up. I slip and slide days and weeks at a time, but I keep on coming back and keep on trying. It took me 16 months to get where I am, not about to quit on myself now! Neither should you - keep on keeping on!

I was 54 when I joined SparkPeople and 56 when I came back and started my Spark Program, starting with Stage One. This is a one day at a time program, but if you do the SparkPeople Program Steps, it really does work. I am terribly average, it's the SP program that is extraordinary.

I found logging my foods in the Nutrition Tracker helped me to lose 90 lbs in 16 months! I started at 210 and went to 120. I am 5'1.5" short, lol.

I hung clothing that was too small on my closet door and every time I would get discouraged I would try them on. Week by week they started fitting! That kept me motivated.

Welcome aboard, we really are all in the same boat! Sometimes we can sail right along but sometimes we have to be rowing like crazy!

You can make it happen! SparkPeople really does work!

I spent most of my 59 years in Obesityville - that is one town I never want to visit ever again!
Slim City is way more fun!!

Thanks for the add, I added you too of course. This is my second time around here too. I joined last August but didn't do anything with it until about 3 weeks ado. I'm so glad I came back to it though, because there is so much support/motivation from people that understand what it's like. Welcome back!! emoticon emoticon

Im recently returned too and really trying to make this suggestion, log in each day to enter your food as it keeps you mindful during the day. There are a lot of great support here from articles and the folks on SP. We are willing to be here for you each day and that helps too. I have also found my pedometer which I am using again and it also gets me going so I can add steps. A friend suggested I get to crafting: beading, puzzles or crocheting in front of the tv so that Im not tempted to eat though I do like using the stationary bike in front of the tv too. Hope some of these ideas will work for you too.

To both give and receive support, I suggest joining and participating in at least one Spark TEAM. When you signed up, SP offered you a "Spark Class" which is a team for the newbies who signed up the week you did.

You might find this blog helpful.
