HOPEFUL AGAIN
JUNE 6, 2011 Well- here is the run down. May 2009 my weight was 207. I reached goal of 143 in March 2010. Kept that off with a few ups and downs until a few months ago, when I hit 155. I got back to 151.5 and got stuck. Sooooo- time to kick myself in the butt and get going again. I reset my weight loss ticker so it doesn't reflect the original 50 pound loss. That is history and my focus has to be on the goal of never having to do that again and to shed these 12 pounds. Biggest ...
Biggest problem- exercise. I never liked it, even though I felt better. Wish it was something I looked forward to. I have to get serious!! Some of the new lifestyles are still with me but I have made many poor decisions at restaurants. Unfortunately, we eat out a lot! Well- here goes!! APRIL 11, 2010 Well, finally settled on a goal of 143, three pounds over a "normal " BMI, but it feels right. Met that around March 11, 2010. The big challenge has begun! JANUARY 1, 2010 Happy New Year! Wow- I just revised my gaols for a lower weight loss to try to reach a healthy BMI, even after gaining 4 pounds over new years! 53 pounds down and 15 to go! OCT 1, 2009 I'm leaving the original text below because it reminds me where I started. I don't think I mentioned what really got me started this time. We were at a Rays ballgame and my husband and we were one of the couples who's faces got put up on the big screen. People near us were jumping up and down to be on camera. When I saw my face up there that Sunday, I was on an official weight loss program by the end of week! Now that I've lost 40 pounds, I'm very excited. There are still 20+ pounds to go, so I plan on maintaining my momentum. My family has been very supportive. ________________________________ MAY 2009 Well, I'm trying again. I first signed up on this site in 2007, but I didn't use it as a diet assist until this May. Before, I was just browsing at someone's suggestion. Reaching the "self loathing" stage did it this time. Being fat has been life long. I was "fatty patty" in elementary school. Every time I lost weight and vowed never to be that size again, I gained it all back and more. Familiar story, I know. Well, I started back on SP a few weeks ago and I have already lost a few pounds. I feel better all ready. Exercise is still just something I think about, but I'm working on it. I know it is time to become more involved with this site, so I'm tentatively setting up my page! Married 36 years with 2 grown sons and 3 grandchildren (18 mo, 2, and 3). One son recently divorced and moved home so we see the 18 mo. little girl (SHAYLA) frequently. The other family moved 12 hours away 4 months ago. ( Kyle age 2, and Alexa, age 3.) They are all doing well and I am happy for them. The next time we get together, I hope to surprise them with my changing image. They have witnessed the start and stop routine so many times.

My Goals:
1/2/10 Reach a healthy BMI. -Well, I changed my goal and it is 3 pounds over the healthy range, but it is where I feel good. 6/3/10 Losing enough weight so I am not embarrassed to go out without a jacket on! Met And I don't want to get out of breath walking to my car! Met Going to the gym 3-5 times a week for cardio- making 3 times pretty consistently Being more diligent on the core exercises so my posture will improve- in progress Get my own sit-on kayak and be able to use it without being exhausted -met 11/1/09! Jump rope 3-5 min, even slowly- up to 10 consecutive jumps 10/1/09
My Program:
Calorie counting and logging food Drinking water Eating my snacks regularly so I am not overly hungry. It makes it so much easier to stay on track and turn down temptation Exercise is coming, and I actually joined a gym. I use my stability ball and bands and go to the gym for cardio. Santa brought some weights
Personal Information:
Being from central FL and hating the heat makes walking outdoors in the summer a no-go for me. I work until 6:30 4 days a week. It was always easier to get home and grab something quick or go out. The family has to adjust to eating home more than I do
Other Information:
Reading has been my main activity. I still do this a lot, but I'm trying to be more active, even running around with the 2 year old granddaughter! The elliptical is no longer the enemy!
