Ugh, I read your post on the GND group. I know exactly what you mean about social calories!! I have stopped drinking nearly completely (not that I drank a lot before even) just because the calories add up SO fast. It just seemed pointless to me. Well of course I have that friend that invites me out every so often and do I go and get a soda and look weird or not go at all? Right now I have actually chosen to not go at all. That is my decision and I have to live with it. Once I am not trying to LOSE weight, just maintain, I will probably start going out again, but it is nearly impossible for me to create a deficit in my calories guzzlings cranberry and vodkas.
My advice would be to suggest eating in together for one of the three nights and prepare something healthy. Or just say no!
I also like the idea of eating something before you go. I eat a lot of Balance and Luna bars for the complete nutrition. Then I'll munch on one on the way to a restaurant and the protein help fill me up! Try it! 2988 days ago
