I'm a graduate student of mathematics at Georgia Tech and I joined SparkPeople shortly after joining Georgia Tech's Weight Watchers group. I noticed sparkpeople had a nutrition calculator for recipes, and I wanted to add recipes to my weight watchers plan and calculate their nutritional info, so I joined! The Weight Watchers course was a ten week course and my goal was to lose 10% of my body weight in those ten weeks. It didn't quite happen that soon, but I have finally done it as of Feb. 13 2009. Woot!

My next goal will be to repeat that. Another 10% will put me at 180 lbs. I'm going to try and reach that goal by May.

Long term I'd like to eventually be down around 165 lbs, which will put me well within the healthy weight range for my height.

My Goals:
My first goal is to bring my weight down from 226 to 203 lbs (to lose 10% of my body weight).
--- DONE! Accomplished as of Feb. 13, 2009 ---

My next goal is to bring my weight down from 200 lbs to 180 lbs (lose another 10% of my body weight).

I would like to eventually bring my weight down to 165 lbs, which would put me well within the "healthy" category for my height and age. I am also hoping this will lower my blood pressure, since it is borderline-high.

My Program:
To pay attention to portion sizes, limit my intake of high calorie-density foods, and increase my activity level.

Other Information:
I'm a grad student working on my PhD in mathematics. In my spare time I enjoy many things, including but not limited to: knitting, wood carving, hiking, camping, and vermicomposting.
