Hello, I'm John. In March 2012 I intend to embark on a six month bicycle tour of the british coastline. It should be fun, but first I need to lose a lot of weight.

My Goals:
To get in shape, feel healthier and fitter.
Cycle around the world (as soon as I have enough money).

My Program:
Cycling - weather permitting.
Spinning when the weather is bad.
Weight training 3 times per week.
Trying to get control of my eating habits (why are all of my favourite foods bad for me ).

Personal Information:
I'm 63 years old, single and live in the south of England. I've spent a lot of my adult life overweight, despite exercising regularly. I just eat too much of the wrong foods at the wrong times, but that will change.

Other Information:
I love most sports especially cycling and football (soccer), music, reading. I play guitar, pedal steel and dobro. I'm not very good at any of them, but I have fun trying to play. Just don't ever ask me to sing - you'll regret it.

The knee is OK, thanks. It is an old injury which flares up occasionally and restricts my cycling for a few days. I'm gradually increasing my distance/time on the bike and should be back to normal very soon.

It was a bit disappointing that this injury occured now as I am trying increase my distance and making a better effort to lose weight before March when I will be starting a cycle tour of the British coastline.

It won't be long and you will be celebrating not having that problem. It felt like it would never happen but now it has become a reality. Keep you focus and keep on sparking.

Congrats on your success to date.
