My Goals:
My primary goal is to be a healthier person. For me that includes losing weight, increasing my cardiovascular endurance, and exchanging fat for muscle. My initial weight loss goal is 52 lbs, which will bring me down to a weight of 150. After I reach that goal, I'll re-evaluate and decide if I need/want to lose more.

I'm an actor, and my body size and weight limit the roles I am considered for by casting directors. I don't want my body to limit me; I want it to enable me to do everything I want to do in life.

My Program:
Currently I'm eating between 1200 and 1550 calories a day (although I try to keep myself in the 1300-1400 range) and keeping my carbs in the lower half of my daily range. No foods are off limits, but I do limit the amount I eat in one sitting. I'm doing 30 minutes of cardio at least 4x a week, and I hope to keep increasing my time until I get up to an hour. I do full body strength training twice a week. Wednesdays are my free days where I can choose to exercise or be lazy depending on what I feel like.

Hi Kate,
I wanted to introduce myself as one of the team captains of the Hoppy Poppies. Thanks for weighing in and introducing yourself already. Also congratulations on grad school! That sounds very exciting. I am looking forward to this challenge. I think we'll be able to each other achieve our goals. Let us know if you have any questions or suggestions for the team.

Thank you and I do agree, it just gets frustrating when you work so hard and not only do you not lose, but you gain! I would rather just stay the same, but to have to work hard to remove pounds that were already removed.. thats just insanity! LOL Hows your weight loss journey going?

Awesome that you're doing Zumba, I've always wanted to give it a shot but I don't think there's any classes in my area and I haven't seen any videos I thought about trying yet. Is it as much fun as the infomercials make it seem, or just so-so?
