Enjoying Life

Happily married to my best friend, we're both Mid-Westerners who met at our Virginian church about 22 years ago. We enjoy bicycle touring, sailing, soccer, baseball and love the Lord.

I'm a new resident in western Michigan since 2012! We decided to "retire" retire and move to Holland, MI. My sweetie has family in Michigan, Ohio and Illinois so we're finally closer to them. We love our home town!

Why am I THEADMIRAL? Not because I was in the Navy, but when my sweetheart and I went sailing with a friend before we were married, he turned to my future DH and said "she'll make a good admiral". :) Meaning that my DH is the captain of the boat, but I'm the admiral whom he must please as he captains the boat. It's the same thought for our tandem bicycle: he's the Captain because he is taller and stronger, but I'm the Stoker because I can't see where we're going. If you enjoy tandem bicycle riding, then you know the Stoker is always right LOL!

My Goals:
- Lower my cholesterol below 200!
- Lose the weight I gained in 2012 - 24 pounds!
- Exercise at least 30 minutes six days a week
- Strength training 2-3 times a week
- complete 100 pushups
- eat 5 servings of fruits and vegetables daily
- Be patient with myself and my progress
- Pray to God for His help to succeed
- Be flexible and positive

My Program:
I reached my goal weight in April 2010 and did well until 2012 when my sweetie and I went through a medical crisis. Now I'm back on track to reach a healthy weight for myself and have a healthy attitude toward food. I plan our meals on a weekly basis. I add variety into our meals and my exercise. I exercise six days a week. I focus on being a more positive person and being patient with my progress. I desire to glorify God during my journey.


Personal Information:
I'm originally from the Quad Cities in Illinois. I'm 62 years young; I was born again in Jesus Christ at 33. I met and married my best friend in September 1995.
We enjoy bicycling, sailing, baseball and football together.
Our life hit a speed bump in 2012 when my sweetie was diagnosed with melanoma. We're thankful that none of the cancer is present after two surgeries. We are learning to live as a cancer survival couple and celebrated three years of survival on March 6 2015, the anniversary of his first surgery.


Other Information:
I enjoy reading, cross-stitching, walking, church choir, teaching preschoolers at church and biking with my sweetie. I'm an art historian and I enjoy all styles of art and architecture.
I don't have any children but we have two honorary daughters and we enjoy grandparenting their children when we have the opportunity.
