Living Large but with a Smaller Me

There is no end. This is a journey, and the goals I set and achieve or come up short on are sights along the way. I am not "dieting". I am making smarter choices about what and how much I eat. I am making fitness a priority each day. I am learning to morph this "plan" into habit. I do not feel the power of this conviction everyday. On those days I fake it until I do.

My Goals:
My current goal is to lose 50 pounds and to build up the strength and endurance to be able to hike a mountain trail again by the summer of 2014.

My Program:
I keep variety in my food and my fitness so I never get bored and I always look forward to both. I use the SP Food Tracker to stay on top of my nutrition. I do a lot of the family cooking and I like to pick healthy recipes that the whole family will enjoy. I do at least 30 minutes of cardio at least 3 days a week (stationary bike, Wii Fit, Wii Active, Jillian Michaels, or Biggest Loser DVD's). I strength train (Bowflex, Wii Active, Wii Fit Plus, SP Videos) at least 3x/wk. I walk a community college track everyday the weather is nice with my wife. I enjoy yard work and get my whole body into it. And I get outdoor activities in whenever I can. I look forward to being fit enough to use my real bicycle and kayak this year.

Personal Information:
Just a foodie/wine lover trying to enjoy the finer things in life while staying healthy and fit while inhabiting a body that doesn't want to cooperate.
