I'm actually getting about 14 cups of water these days. I read that you should take your body weight divided by 2 for the number of ounces of water needed per day. Divide that by 8 for the number of 8 oz. cups.
It made sense to me....why would a 110 pound person have the same water requirements as a 250 pound person when so much of our body is made up of water?
And, if you consider that you are supposed to drink about 8 ounces of water per 15-20 minutes of exercise, beyond the 8 cups... that alone can take me up to 12+.
I know SP says 8 oz., but I feel so much better with the extra 4-6 cups. It really improves my mood and my allergies. And I've read some inspiring blogs where others say that drinking lots of water helps with weight loss. Not sure about the weight loss, but I feel much better with the extra water.
So, anyway... my bladder has built some stamina and I don't even have to get up during the night.
