Fabulous 50!

I have been happily married for thirty years. My husband and I raised three successful, smart children. My faith in the Lord is firm planted and He is my strength and guide.
This year, I turned fifty years old and I decided I was tired of being overweight. I didn't want to begin the next phase of my life in an fluffy state. Since this past May, before I joined Sparkpeople.com, I weighed 248 lbs. and today I weigh 220 lbs.

This year, I turned fifty years old and I decided I was tired of being overweight. I didn't want to begin the next phase of my life in an fluffy state. Since this past May, before I joined Sparkpeople.com, I weighed 248 lbs. and today I weigh 220 lbs.
The weight loss is slow but steady. My goal is to lose around 100 lbs, total. I walk, nearly everyday, and just recently began to use the Kettlebell. I have shrunk down three sizes in my clothes!
My family and friends are very supportive and encourage me daily. I diary/blog my thoughts, successes, and frustrations along my weight loss journey. My new lifestyle mantra is: eat to live -- not live to eat!
My daily health plan is as follows: Plenty of fiber and water. 120g of carbohydrates, 15 g of sugar, moderate exercise (mainly walking and kettlebell), I avoid white processed flour, eat plenty of low fat protein, lots of green veggies and minimal fruit.
I eat every three hours beginning one hour after getting up every morning. My first meal is Breakfast, then a Snack, Lunch, Snack, Dinner and finally the last snack of the day. As supplementing my diet, I take a daily Multi-vitamin, a calcium, and Omega 3, and Flaxseed. My physician has directed me to also take extra fiber every other day.
I feel so much better -- great, and my family likes my physical change... especially my husband!
If I can encourage one person by sharing my experiences, I have been successful!
