Gonna get lean in 2015!!!

I started SparkPeople in December 2008, and quickly lost weight by logging my food and increasing my exercise. But when my life got more stressful (my husband became ill and lost his job at the same time) I went back to my old habits. I regained all of the weight I had lost. I need to be healthy and take care of myself so that I can care for my family, and maintain a busy work schedule and home life.

I need to be healthy and take care of myself so that I can care for my family, and maintain a busy work schedule and home life.

I have also been coming to terms with some other issues in my life. I want to be closer to God and more open to people. We also are working at eliminating our debt.

I have also had a problem with holding on to too much stuff from the past. I had suffered a series of losses and crises in recent years, and I began to see "stuff" as associated with love and people. Of course some things are precious and intimately tied with memories, but some things just need to be passed on to someone else who needs it or can enjoy it. I have begun the process of clearing these items out.

2015 GOALS:
1. Be sure to have daily prayer and Bible reading time.
2. Get up early to ensure I get my exercise in for the day.
3. Log ALL my food, stay under 1500 calories, and eat lots more fruits and vegetables.
4. Drink at least 64 ounces of water per day.
5. Pay down our debts.
6. Organize my house.

EATING PLAN:
Practice moderation in everything.
Stop after "just one."
Use portion control!
Eat at least 5 servings of fruits/veggies each day.
Track every bite (Calories!)
Cut out diet soda and decrease my caffeine intake.
Reduce the salt, sugar, and refined carbs I eat.
Decrease the bad fats and increase the good fats in my diet!

WEIGHT LOSS GOALS:
Slow but steady loss!

My Goals:
Of course, we all want to look better, but I really need to do this for my health. I want to lose weight and be more active.

My Program:
I am reducing my snacks, watching my portion size, logging EVERYTHING I eat, drinking more water, and increasing my exercise.

Personal Information:
I grew up in Tucson, AZ. I have lived in Chattanooga, TN for 20+ years. I have been blessed to have lived and traveled all over. I enjoy meeting people from all over the US and the world.

Other Information:
Tennessee has been listed as one of the heaviest and most unhealthy states. I no longer want to be part of that statistic.
