A sigh of relief. The new plan is working.

(8/8/13) 49 lbs down! Starting to think about maintenance and final goal weight! hurrah!

(6/11/13) 40 lbs down! Still making it to the gym. Goal weight in sight! Never thought I'd be here again. Yay!

(4/24/13) 30lbs down! Finally making it to the gym! Twice this week!

(1/18/13): I'm trying something new, because what worked for me before, isn't working now. As a busy, working mom, I am just not finding the time to take care of myself and exercise. (My daughter just turned two, and I am currently above my peak pregnancy weight!) I am starting a meal replacement program (HNT HealthOne) that is fairly low calorie, but allows you to supplement with fruits and vegetables. After years of low-carbing, its an adjustment in my way of thinking, but I am jumping in with both feet and alot of faith.

Previous Entries:
"I finally saw myself as I am: a beautiful, hard-working, loving and talented woman who has not taken the time to rejoice in herself. Ever. " (ruthlessly stolen from FaeryKitten's sparkpage)

Prior to my pregnancy, I'd lost over 50 pounds. Sparkpeople helped me find find a sense of self, determination, pride and belief that I can accomplish anything I put my mind to. What started as "I need to lose some weight for this bridemaid's dress" turned into a life transformation. (The bridesmaid's dress was in August 2007- I'd lost 30 pounds by then- but I just kept going!)

Now that I've gained a few pregger pounds, I have about 25lbs to loose to get to my current goal. It may not be soon (this is a lifestyle change, not a diet), but it WILL happen. I may reassess that goal, and go for a 160lb goal, but we'll see...But for now, 175lbs is a very happy, nearby goal. I am following Atkins advice to lose the last ~5 pounds very very slowly so by the time I reach goal, I will know how I have to eat for the rest of my life.

When I need some reassurance, I read these quotes:

*"Your thoughts, your feelings and your actions all have to be firing simultaneously in the same direction,"

*"Thats why it has too be a LIFESTYLE change, if you go back to your old lifestyle when you reach your goal, you will be going back to the lifestyle that made you fat in the first place!! "

*"You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing which you think you cannot do." -Eleanor Roosevelt

"Its not what you do occasionally, but what you do everyday, that counts!"

"I finally saw myself as I am: a beautiful, hard-working, loving and talented woman who has not taken the time to rejoice in herself. Ever. "

Anyone who tells you that Atkins is unhealthy, has not actually read the Atkins books. I eat tons of veggies (just not starchy ones), low glycemic fruits (berries), as well as some grains (high fiber wraps and whole wheat/lo carb bread). I avoid sugar at all cost! I eat plenty of protein too: chicken, beef, fish, cheese and eggs. Atkins has been a life saver and it has improved my health. (I have a kickass blood work / cholesterol report that I am happy to share with anyone who doubts this way of eating) I feel sooo much better - I AM NEVER GOING BACK!
