My name is Terry. I retired as a Microbiologist in 2004. Since then I have been a home maker. I live with my husband Randy on our farm. I like the quiet life; it suits me.

My name is Terry. I retired as a Microbiologist in 2004. Since then I have been a home maker. I live with my husband Randy on our farm. I like the quiet life; it suits me.

I have three grown children Holly 25, David 24, and April 23. They were a real handful when they were growing up! I was a single mom for twelve years. It was the hardest job I ever had.

I suffer from complicated migraines and recurring episodes of major depression. For those reasons, I am on a lot of medications that I take daily. Unfortunately, those medicines are stored in my fat and when I lose weight too quickly I become very ill. That's why, this time, my goal is to spread my weight loss over a year's time.

I decided to get serious about my health when I turned 53. That's when I joined SparkPeople. Over the years I neglected my health and did not exercise and that led me to become unfit and obese. I would get winded just answering the phone! I knew it was time for a change. I started walking in January and watching my daily nutrition on August 6th.

I know this will be a long journey for me and I'm bound to have set backs. My goal is to get right back on track and learn to live a healthy life style. I feel SP is a powerful tool that will help me stay on track.

My Goals:
My goal is to reinvent myself gradually over a year's time. I would like to get down to a normal weight and have a routine fitness program that I stick to. I would like to be much more energetic and I'm sure the first two goals will help.

My Program:
I'm doing the nutrition tracker for my food and walking briskly for an hour at least every other day.

Thank yolu for your comment on my blog. We used to eat out quite a bit also, we recently quit that. Not eating fast food is a very hard habit to break.
