I own my own preschool/homeschool/childcare in my home, and the kids keep me busy. I have been doing this since 1982, and I STILL love it. I also love my husband, my adult son, and my jack russell terrier. I also love Apple computers and photography. I have a good life.

My Goals:
MAIN GOAL - to lose weight and gain health and strength

FIRST GOAL - lose 30pounds
ACHIEVED! 3/31/12

NEXT GOAL - to weigh under 200 pounds

My Program:
I have created a method/recipe for homemade soup with lots of veggies in it (meat, beans and spices, too, but mostly veggies) that I make in bulk and then freeze in single serving containers. THAT has become our fast food, instead of Carl's Jr.
The "rule" is that if one of us doesn't feel like cooking a healthy meal, then we will eat a box of soup rather than go out to eat. We usually eat soup for at least one, if not two meals a day.
I have also developed some pretty good "green" protein smoothies, with LOTS of veggies, protein powder, antioxidant fruits and nuts in them.
I try to do SOME form of exercise for at least 30 minutes a day, 6 days a week.

I call it SOUP, SMOOTHIES and SWEAT. So far I've lost 30.4 pounds on this program.

Personal Information:
I live in East San Diego County.

If you get a moment during your busy schedule, please come visit 'Expressions' Poetry Journal at: chesakat1.blogspot.com This is a family oriented web site dedicated to animals and poetry. Happy to hear you have a Jack Russell - one of my favorite Doggies! I have 2 cats (oh, and fish) now, as I live in an apt. Thanks again Territoons - blessings to you and yours...

Hey Terri:
re: your salads --cant you get some of those zip loc 'veggie' bags--the kind that supposedly keep greens fresher for a bit longer--and put all the chopped up ingredients in there? for example...on Sundays--make the whole salad in a big, honking bowl--everything you want to go in it counting whatever you count...and adding it up for the whole quanitity. Then, portion out 3 days worth in each of those bags ( not sure if it will keep longer than that without some kind of sprayed preservative on it...) then divide the total by 3.
If by the third day, it is still fresh and not slimy--then perhaps you can try 4 days the next time?
Just an idea. :)
re: carb counting--easy peasy...I dont have ANY cravings at all. I am very insulin resistant--so the lower in sugars/starches ( which are biologically the same thing) the less my cravings.
If I do have the need for a sweet thing--I have some all natural peanut butter or a bit of an Atkins bar...That usually works.
Any cravings to eat i do have are all emotional...I eat a lot of fat so my hunger is always satiated....its the EMOTIONAL HUNGER that would undo me--but since I am managing that too--doing the emotional work--even that has subsided.
you are doing great! just keep working at it and it all kind of gets figured out. :) with your new zest for clothes--it will be easier to see the changes perhaps!

Thanks for your comments on my blog--I think that every single one of your little charges, is your 'little girl' and when you teach them to be strong, and brave and independent--you are teaching her. :) and now that youve seen her again tonight--maybe you can look at why you hid her away?
