I am a working mother of two with about 70 pounds to lose. I love lots of things, but most especially my daughters. I also love to read and to drink tea and to hike in the fall. I love genealogy, history, books, spirituality, and want to be a writer when I grow up!
For work I run a company that provides services and supports to people with disabilities in the community.
I have fibromyalgia and am moderately successful in handling flares with nutrition, vitamins, herbs, and exercise.
At the moment I am also a caregiver for my sweet mother, who is fighting kidney and bladder cancer and undergoing chemotherapy.
I look forward to continuing to enjoy the sunshine of the SparkPeople and their loving support. Right back at you guys!!!!
To become healthier, control my fibromyalgia and hypertension and stress (!) and also lose some weight so I can hike longer with my back and knees and feet feeling GREAT.
My program is pretty eclectic. I try to increase my activity whenever I can. I also try to eat more fruits and veggies and have invented a delicious super smoothie that brings me alot of joy.
40-something, Zaftig and FABULOUS.
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage tochange the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

Hey, sweetie! Thanks for noting my feed. I have recently signed up for daily emails from Chicken Soup for the Soul. That was today's...The Day I Met Norman Vincent Peale.
Have a great week. Oh, BTW...have you shared your smoothie recipe? I got a peach mango one at BK recently and AFTER I drank it found out it was 500 calories! (sure was good, though)

I just wanted to say hi and tell you that even though I've been away from SP for the past several months (bogged down with work and stress) I am looking forward to ending the mighty-year-of-challenges that has plagued me this past year and start fresh soon... I may be still a bit scarce around here for the next little while but I did want to let you know that I've been thinking of you and hope you are doing well in life, in happiness, and in your journey.

Today you have the choice to be amazing. Today you can do more than just try. You can succeed. You can be victorious. Today, you can rock your world. You can look yourself in the eye and smile... because you know that you are fighting for an amazing cause: YOU. And YOU are absolutely worth fighting for.
You can also do the same thing tomorrow.

In honour of the upcoming Summer Olympic Games this Saturday in London, I give to you the Olympic Creed which is as true for the games as it is for achieving our own goals and dreams each and every day:
"The most important thing in the Olympic Games is not to win but to take part, just as the most important thing in life is not the triumph but the struggle. The essential thing is not to have conquered but to have fought well."
Today, you are a superhero, a survivor, a warrior, and a beacon to others for honouring yourself, your mind and your body; for making the choices that will make you an even better person tomorrow.
Today you are one step closer, because you decided to be. Fight strong, fight well, fight fair.
