So I've been on this journey for awhile. I've had quit a bit of success and lost a lot of ground. So I'm trying to stay focused. I learned one thing that has helped me. That no matter whether or not I feel I'm on the right track, I monitor my weight weekly so that at least I am mindful of which direction I am going. I have a fairly good record of my weekly weighins since 9/2001. There are periods where I didn't weigh, but every time I did weigh in, I kept records of it.

On 06/10/2007 I decided I've been off track for too long. I've been watching my weight fluctuate and it's time to build some momentum in the right direction.

Weighing in at: 06/10/2007: 274
Long term Goal: 188

So I'm calling 274 my most recent "starting weight" and I am moving forward. I hope to reach my goal by sometime in June of 2008.

At the time of this writing (06/21/2007), I am 1 week and 4 days into my effort.

My Goals:
I am focusing on shorter term goals:

10% of my starting weight.
Each 10lb milestone ie, 270, 260, 250 etc.
Treadmill endurance time
Eliptical endurance time
Time it takes me to complete a mile.
Clothing sizes.
Notches in my belt.
Etc.



My Program:
I am avoiding tracking exact calories or "points" etc. Instead, I'm focusing on smaller portions and eating healthier foods. Excercising three or more times a week.
