Do-over!

I'm 46, married, living in Dallas temporarilly until my home in New Orleans is rebuilt (Katrina thing). I was 40 lbs. overweight when Katrina hit and throughout the next stressful two years I managed to pack on an additional 50 lbs. I'm determined to lose it all and go home looking healthy and fit.

I've just returned to school for a Master's Degree in Natural Health. My hope is to eventually complete my Doctorate and then use that to help heal New Orleans.

My Goals:
I want to lose a steady 2lbs. a week. My ultimate goal is to get back into a size 10 and be very toned and strong.

My reward when I reach my ultimate goal is a pretty new pink kayak!

My Goals:
My goal is to get down to a size 10 and be really strong. Strong women are always beautiful!

I want to add some strength to my arms so I'll be able to paddle my kayak when I reach my goal!

My BLC9 goal is 25 lbs - I know I can do it!

My Program:
I'm journaling all my food and eating clean the majority of the time, I do a fantastic yoga class on Tuesdays and Thursdays as well as a daily AM & PM yoga practice.

Personal Information:
I'm from New Orleans. Well, actually, my body is from Oklahoma - that's where I was born. My heart and soul are from New Orleans because that's where I found myself. I'm in Dallas now (since 08/28/05 - one day before Katrina hit), but we're rebuilding our home in Gentilly and will be moving back to NOLA in 2010.

I've been married to Mark, the greatest man to ever walk the earth (OK, maybe with the excepton of Jesus), for 16 years.

I have 6 furry kids - Roscoe, Olympia & Fred the dogs and Maverick, Osama (yes, he lives up to his name daily), and Weebles (she's a paraplegic - no use of her hind legs) the cats.

Other Information:
I try to live my life according to this Lao Tzu quote...

"At the center of your being you have the answer; you know who you are and you know what you want."
Lao Tzu

Thank you for your comments on my blog! You should get out and try it! Even if you don't want to run, a good long walk always helps to clear the mind, or in my case, flush it from overthinking- which I tend to do a lot.

*Laughs* My Mardi Gras was ... interesting.

It started off fairly low-key with a parade along Frenchmen, spent some time chatting with cool tourists, generally unwinding from launching Second Helping, moving to New Orleans, and trying to get things accomplished during Mardi Gras all at the same time. I can get wild and crazy once I'm more settled.

Then I get locked out of my house, befriend this cute hetero couple and wind up spending the night with them (mind out of the gutter, they were locked out too). I gave them a lift to the train station at 6 a.m.

So not a conventional Mardi Gras, but perfect in its imperfection, heh.

And for the record, I loved Mark's family. I'm all for it!

Onward! Love ya hon!
