I am a Christian and my priority is to live my life as God wants me to. When God is in control everything will work out. My family is very important to me. I have several health issues, but choose not to let them control my life any more than necessary. I need to lose about 10 lbs to get back to a healthy weight. My highest weight was about 185 lbs. I lost the ability to walk and the lbs. packed on. With WW, lots of determination I lost 45 lbs. Since than I have really had to work on keeping it off. With thyroid issues it makes it harder, but I know it can be done. I like getting to know people of all ages. Everyone has something to offer. I collect cherished teddies and like teddy bears in general.
My goal is to lose 1-2 lbs a month. It doesn't come off very fast, because of thyroid issues, but I won't give up.
Counting calories and eating a healthy diet which for me includes a GF diet. I am working with a friend from sparks on tracking our nutrition.
I am from the TX panhandle. I have 2 daughters who are married. One is a lawyer and the other is a mech. eng. Husband of 35 years. I give piano lessons. I have a degree in El.Ed. I have two grandson and one grand daughter. I am expecting another grand daughter in Aug.
I enjoy reading Christian Novels. I have several authors that I love... Karen Kingsbury and others who write about the Amish.
Hi Donna, Thanks for the Spark goodie, you are so sweet my dear Sister in Christ. Love your page! I love reading C.S. Lewis, we just saw the Screwtape Letters play played by Max McLean (love him) we got to meet him after the play and talk to him and he signed my play book. Then we went the following day to his support dinner. I had never even heard of the Christian Fellowship for Performing Arts, it was very interesting.
Yep, I am another Texan from Houston born and raised. I have never lived anywhere outside of Texas! Visited places but never lived anywhere else. If I retired I think I would like in Barcelona, Spain! LOL.... Aaaahh a girl can dream! LOL...
Is your daughter a lawyer in Texas? I ask b/c I work for attorneys in the Galleria and my husband is a mechanical engineer, go figure.
Well I chatted your ear long enough I am sure you have lots of packing to do for your trip and to get things ready before you go.
Thanks so much for the invite! I'd love to join your team. Yeah, I've been in TX 9 years and have not adjusted to the weather. Have developed heat prostration so many times that I'm not allowed outside if it's 90* or higher. That's about 3/4 of the year here. I really miss walking on the beach or in the mountains. But, I am very blessed with my church and the friends I've made.
“FOR I want you to know how great is my solicitude for you, how severe an inward struggle I am engaged in for you ... and for all who, like yourselves, have never seen my face and known me personally.” Colossians 2:1, AMP
Just want you to know that God has you in my heart as we face July with hope of victory. I am praying earnestly for us all that we well overcome and run to catch hold of the prise that faithfulness to the course will bring.
“Look carefully then how you walk! Live purposefully and worthily and accurately, not as the unwise and witless, but as wise (sensible, intelligent people), making the very most of the time [buying up each opportunity], because the days are evil. Therefore do not be vague and thoughtless and foolish, but understanding and firmly grasping what the will of the Lord is” (Ephesians 5:15-17, AMP).
SparkPeople is a God-given opportunity to learn better ways of care for the body He graced us to have for life more abundant and full. May we fail-not in taking this opportunity to the full, spending all that is required of self to possess it as our own.
