Hey, Laura, are you still around? I know we don't always post, but i hope you're still taking advantage of the resources.
I still hope to reach goal one of these months. It would be easier if food didn't taste so good. But I'm still exercising, so, I'm fitter than I was! I have a new granddaughter - her picture's in my gallery.Shel

Hi, Laura - I'm out "virtual visiting" again. Come by my gallery some time - I've been changing pix a bit more frequently to feature some of my spiritual sons (in the blog as well), just because they become dearer to me each time I go to Peru. It was great last month with my senior minister - for one thing, he was a great blessing to every church we visited (the kids LOVED him, he has such a great way with them). I only had to preach one night - the rest of the time I was just interpreting for him! It was fun! Two weeks just wasn't enough time, really, but it was better than nothing, and at least I'm going back after school lets out, for another 5 weeks.
I did some yo-yo-ing in the weight department, between holidays and then getting back into the routine when I got back from Peru. But I'm finally starting to get a peak at UNDER 190, something I never thought possible till I started Spark. And I feel better too! I can keep up with the youth dancing at church!
Anyway, hope to hear from you - love, Shel

Laura, I know what you mean about the public schools. Did I tell you I work in one? A middle-and-high school, in the city, as a teacher Assistant, so mostly special ed kids, which can mean anything from mild retardation to extreme behavior problems; kids who have been in "lock up" (jail), who have friends or relations who have either shot or been shot, cut or been cut, killed or been killed, bought sold and/or used drugs, had or made a baby before they were in their teens...It's definitely as much a mission field as a far off land! I'm glad the Lord had placed me there to bear witness to Him, more by deed than by word, more by His presence - demonstrated through His love and peace in me - than anything else. But I also love the trips to Peru for a change, where I can be with other believers and receive spiritual refreshment as well as give it! -Shel

Hi, there, Laura! Got some time on my hands (and don't feel like tackling any projects), watching the grandkids while daughter is out for driving lesson. Pray she passes her road test in a couple weeks! It would make things so much easier all around! (Problem is I usually don't have time to take her practicing)
I'm getting ready for my next trip to Peru during Feb recess - just 2 weeks, but I'm thankful for whatever I can get. Especially since the pastor can come with me! "So THIS is what you do while here!"
God keep you in His purposes! Love in Christ, Shel
