After a difficult year and a diagnosis of cervicogenic headaches, I'm returning to my goal which is to lose about 30 pounds and get to my lowest weight since college. I feel blessed that I'm able to do this and hope with continued treatement my pain management will be even better than before. I'm doing this because I want to be fitter, leaner, and more me than I ever have been!
I have now been with SP 7 months and this is my progress! 43.4 pounds gone! Over 20 inches lost, though I haven't taken measurements in about 3 weeks so I can't be definite on that. In addition, I have more energy, less trouble breathing (I'm asthmatic) and much better cardio stamina! My latest challenge is Shaun T's Insanity program which I absolutely love because the results are happening so quickly. I can work out longer, my abs are getting flatter everyday and it pushes me to work harder then I ever have! It definitely isn't easy but then I don't believe there is a quick fix to weight loss and health. For the month of June I have a goal to get to 138.4 pounds, increase the amount of jack pushups I can do from 20 in one minute to 30 in one minute, AND drop from a size 8 to a size 6. I started this program as a size 14!!!
6 months into SP, I have lost 38.6 pounds and almost 20 inches!!! All my clothes are too big and this is the first time in a long time that I have felt confident in my body. Wearing form fitting clothes is not something I dread anymore. How am I making this amazing transformation? By using the SP food and activity trackers, by working out 6 days a week including (this is crucial!) strength training and by the support of others on SP. There are always bumps on the path of each journey, but these things have kept me grounded, determined, and focused on what's to come. I promise if you put the work in, you will see results! Just believe that you can do it and YOU WILL!!!
After 5 months of SP, I have lost 33 pounds about over 17 inches from my waist, thighs, hips, and arms! My BMI has gone from 30.2 Obese to 24.9 Normal~I am no longer overweight!!! Sparkpeople has changed the way I eat, exercise, and live and I'm going to keep working toward my goal!
My story is probably not that different from most peoples. While I am not extremely overweight, I have slowly been gaining weight over the last ten years and it is negatively affecting other health conditions I have, including asthma. Breathing has always been a struggle but with all the extra weight, it was getting to be a daily battle. I love to take pictures, write, and have a heart for the people of Africa. I have been to Zambia and South Africa for missions work and hope to go back again some day.
I want to build muscle, lose another 15-18 pounds and feel better about my overall body. I also have goals to add more protein and fiber to my diet and eat 2-3 veggies a day.
Lose weight, get stronger, be healthier, cut out diet soda completely, feel better about myself.

I am currently doing Shaun T's Insanity, which is the hardest workout I have ever done! 6 days a week combined cardio and strength. Also I'm staying within my calorie ranges, and drinking 8-10 glasses of water a day.

I am taking a much needed vacation, letting my body taking in all I've demanded of it since joining SP. I have way more time to relax in addition to my exercising & better nutrition.
There was a team I had joined months ago but never made time to take on a challenge, my plate was just too full with night school also. So about 2 1/2 weeks ago, I found the first 2 challenges really easy, water & breakfast, and then last week came to "NO SWEETS." However, my solution was to use the SP meal plans for support. I have such a sweet-tooth! Well, needless it has worked, and I am on day 9! YEA! Small success but huge for me! I feel like I can get a crasp on this moderation thing; as the lst day of the school comes quicker & quicker every year. I have a plan in place as I know how many goodies come through in a mere 9th months.
Plus I have an opportunity to teach Summer Science Camp, can't wait! I feel busier than ever but I have a tremendous joy in heart as I have more time to make what I think are valuable connections on SP.
Your weight loss is commendable and I bet you feel a whole lot better! Keep it up, as I know we expend a lot of energy in the teaching field. We need all the energy we can get! I hope you can stay in touch as much as you can, have a wonderful, relaxing summer yourself!
