Going All The Way!!!
My name is Cindy. I am 36 years old. I joined Sparkpeople in May of 2006 and lost about 42 pounds. I quit tracking and in the next two years gained back all but about 12 pounds of that. I should interject here that I'm so bad about having patience with myself. In turn I end up getting frustrated and disappointed and ultimately giving up. This time I am going to remember at all times (especially the really bad ones) that that doesn't work and do something different. I'm going to ...
I'm going to persevere-no matter how many bad days in a row I have, no matter what throws me off track for the time being-I will get back on and move in the right direction again. It's time to just do it!! I started losing weight again in February of 2009 and started back on SP in March. I joined some teams and got involved in some challenges and have lost 38 more for a total of 50 pounds so far. I love the way I feel and I like the way I look (ONLY in comparison to how I used to look!) ~ I still have a very long way to go. I started this journey hundreds of times since I was a young teenager and have never been what I would consider successful. Being here on SP and making new friends has made this journey not only do-able, but enjoyable!! I have PCOS/insulin resistance/pre-diabetes, HAD borderline high blood pressure~although that is starting to get under control, borderline cholesterol readings~also starting to get under control and really I'm probably glad I don't know the myriad of other things plaguing my body. I have changed the name of my page ( on 10-18-2009) from DOIN' IT THIS TIME!! to GOING ALL THE WAY!!! because I no longer want the reminder of the past failures standing in the way of my future success!! A new favorite quote of mine ~ "To guarantee success, act as if it were impossible to fail." - Dorothea Brande 289 - Highest (known) weight! 270 - 3/2/09 RE-START (3-2-2009) GOALS: 256 - 4/18/09 DONE! My Goals:
Lose a substantial amount of weight and live a much longer, healthier, more fulfilling life than I will if I remain in the condition I am in right now!!! Wear clothes I have never been able to wear, and have my husband be proud that I am his wife (and my kids be proud that I am their mother as well).
My Program:
**Revised 9-30-09** OK, enough beginning! I am eating within 1330-1680 calories and working out at least 5 times a week (at least that's the plan). I am also just starting some toning with some 10 minute solutions videos. Love the pilates so far!! Original Post - 2006 - Just beginning again!!! I am trying to learn many things. One of them being the patience that I need to lose a LOT of weight. That has been really hard for me and made it really easy for me to give up each time. So small changes for now. Drinking enough water, cutting out the soda, tracking what I eat and drink, and reading success stories of others - trying to stay motivated.
Personal Information:
I am 5' 6.5" tall I have 2 inside dogs, 3 inside cats, lots of outside cats, 2 LaMancha goats, 2 Lionhead bunnies, 4 turkeys, 10 quail and lots and lots of chickens. I homeschool my 3 kids and we love it - most times :-) I sing in the Praise Team at church and am the Church Librarian.
Other Information:
I love to cook/bake, sing, garden, can, knit, read, work outside on our farm and care for our chickens and goats...and the obvious-eat!!!
