Good health and fitness in 2009!

I'm a busy teacher and mom who is overweight and out of shape. I have just started walking without pain after healing from foot injuries and surgery....last time I walked with my son was August 2007! I was able to walk a mile without pain two days last week, so I'm getting excited about getting back into shape.

I also like to do some yoga and balancing games on the Wii Fit.

Some of my goals are:
To move more....with walking, Wii Fit, and aerobics

I'm hoping that putting this into writing will help me do a better job of visualizing the end results and help me stay motivated.

I'm 40, fat, and fitness challenged but ready to make some changes!

I'd like to lose weight and get in better shape so I can be around for my family.

Hello Teachermama! I wanted to tell you I loved your advice to the mom with the 16 yr old having trouble with school. My son sees a therapist who uses the "conciquences" method.....don't do homework-no snowboarding, dont take out trash- no skating.
But i really loved your positive reward system you use with your kids. I am going to give that a try for a change since my way isn't really working anyhow. This may be a great change for us. Thanks for your post! emoticon

I just wanted to wish you good luck with your goals. All you have to do is believe in yourself and things will start to happen! Get support from Spark Teams because people can give you great ideas. I started a group called Art & Craft Ideas... so please feel free to join if you have an interest!
