Looking forward to feeling better, being healthier and accepting my gluten/casein/soy free lifestyle. Looking forward.

I don't like roller coasters...never did. Not even as a kid. So why I ride the yo-yo weight loss roller coaster is beyond me. It is time to get off. It is time to stop "rewarding" myself with food. What kind of a reward is that? Certainly not healthy. Certainly NOT in my best interest. What kind of a friend would I be if I rewarded someone with POISON? Yet I do it to myself all the time.

Time to begin practicing self-care. Time to take the healthy dreams/ideas I have and make them DAILY habits. Going to bed at a decent hour, planning meals and having my clothes ready are not lofty, undoable goals. Exercising, taking my vitamins and drinking water are things I need to do for ME! They are healthy habits that need to be engrained and I need to begin NOW. Not tomorrow, not next week...NOW! Care to join me? It'll be Fun!

1. Eat when you are hungry.
2. Eat sitting down in a calm environment.
3. Eat without distractions.
4. Eat what your body wants.
5. Eat until you are satisfied.
6. Eat (with the intention of being) in full view of others.

My Goals:
Visualize a positive, productive, active and healthy life.

Run 5Ks with ease.

Eat only when hungry. Eat consciously.

Live in the moment.

Make God the center of my life. Give my concerns, hopes, worries, and successes over to Him.

My Program:
Plan meals the night before. Pack lunch and have clothes ready to wear.

Exercise 5 times a week for 45 min-1 hour each time.

Drink 8 glasses of water AND 3 cups of green tea per day.


Visualize myself at my goal weight, completing a half marathon and feeling peaceful!

Personal Information:
I'm 52, married (for the 2nd time) and live in NJ. I work as a school administrator in a large, suburban school district. I have been avoiding my goals and dreams and living a little life. I am ready to get back on track physically, spiritually, and emotionally.

Other Information:
Today is going to be a GREAT day!

    I am following a program I got for my Ipod touch, called Run Coach Pro. It gives you a schedule according to when your event is, and you can put in ho many days you want to run. It tailors the schedule to you. I am running 4 days a week. MTW I am running between 45 minutes and an hour, and Saturday is my long run. Each Saturday it goes up 10 minutes. I am at 90 minutes tomorrow. The highest Saturday is 2 hrs and 10 minutes, a few weeks before the event, and then it starts to go back down. Right now I am running about a 12 minute mile on average. I don't foresee it getting any better anytime soon, lol. My plan for the NJ half is just to finish. I don't care about my time. I am running Rock n Roll in Phillie in Sept. and I hope to beat my NJ time then~

    I turn 39 in April and want to do a half before I turn 40, and if all goes well, a marathon the year I turn 40.
    I have a training plan I found online that starts in February, but I got an app for my ipod touch that starts next week, easing me in, so I am going to follow that. Right now I am just trying to run 3 or 4 days a week, for 30-60 minutes at a time, just to keep moving. I did a bunch of 5Ks in the fall and my times are ok, kinda, lol, so I am hoping this training goes well!
