Thanks for visiting my page. I have been using Sparks since May 2nd, 2006, after my sister recommended the site to me. I lost 80 pounds that first year, and it was amazing how much better I started to feel in just days. I used to be tired all the time. I would put off going to another room to get something or even reaching down to pick something off the floor. Soon, I found myself running up stairs, pacing, smiling, happier than I could remember being for over 18 years. I felt like I had found myself again. Then I fell out of the good habits -- stopped caring for myself by tracking my food, water, and exercise. I gained a good thirty pounds back this past year. That, too, was a real learning experience. Like an alcoholic, I will have to face my addiction my whole life. When times get hard, I will want to resort to the same old patterns of denial and escapism by eating myself into an unfeeling coma. Returning to SparkPeople is my AA meeting -- full of friendship, support, understanding, and a kick in the pants when I need it.

My Goals:
I would like to look and feel beautiful in my wedding dress! I lost 80 pounds two years agp with Sparks! This year my goal is to lose at least 80 pounds and to tone up.
My Program:
I plan to carefully stay within my calorie range and eat as many of the "super" foods as possible. I am also trying to limit sugars and refined wheat foods. I need to force myself to walk, bike, or swim at least 4 times a week. I also need to force myself to do some simple weight training to build muscle.
Personal Information:
I am from New Jersey. I love to quilt, swim, and spend time in Maine.
Other Information:
I plan to savour each moment -- the odd, the unexpected, the bitter, the sweet. Really experience each emotion, every bit of beauty, even the ugly and awkward side of life. I find that if I do the same with each bite I eat, I am happy with less, easily satisfied, content for the first time in so very long.
