Motivation

It seems the struggles never end. I had an unannounced cholesterol check the other day and I think that may have been what I needed to realize this isn't a dress rehearsal - this is it! This is the only chance I get to take care of my heart and myself. I need to live as if a cholesterol check is right around the corner every day! Thanks to the people on my Cubs team and other Spark friends I have made along the way I am looking forward to reconnecting to them AND the motivated self that felt ...

My Cubs Team has moved into "The Cubbies Apartment Building"! Once we reach the ground floor we will be living sidebyside with the players of the Cubs team and living among all the luxuries a great apartment building has to offer! Talk about motivation! Reach a personal weight goal and move down to the next floor.

My Goals:
My 10 year old daughter and I have high cholesterol. It shocks people because neither of us "look" like we should. It is genetic. I try to live as vegetarian/vegan as I can and with that she gets her fair share of beans, fruits, and veggies, too. My goals are not short term (although lowering that scale is on the list), my main goals are to see grandkids and to allow my children to learn to eat the way they SHOULD so that they too can live long, healthy lives.

My Program:
Food tracker, food tracker, food tracker. I can't say enough about how that tool has helped me SO MUCH! Everything gets logged . . . no matter what!

I love looking at SparkRecipes.com since it is easy to see the number of calories and then after it is eaten I can just click on "add to meal planner" and it's done.

I eat all of the time! Big meals are a memory to me. I eat breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, and if I have the calories another light snack. If I allow myself to get hungry it's too late! I lose all sense of myself and my goals.

Last January I joined a workout group in my small town. It was at 4:30 in the afternoons for a few months, but after that everybody had to go the usual 5:45 a.m. class that had been going on for years. NO THANK YOU.....but I joined this summer and hate it when I have to miss it. M, W, F I am guaranteed to get a workout that is kicks booty!

I am a wife to the man I have been with for 19 years and married to for 13, mother of two fabulous children ages 10 and 6, friend, daughter, sister, 3rd grade teacher, Girl Scout leader. I just completed grad school where the main thing I learned was that we only get one go around at this thing. We better do it right! To say that my life is full is an understatement!

Beautiful Woman Award! Once you've been given this award, you have to paste it on the wall of 8 women who deserve it. If you receive more than 3, you know you're really beautiful! If you break the chain, nothing will happen, but it's always good to know someone thinks you're beautiful inside and out"
