As a nursing student I have increasingly become aware of my own bad habits that need to be changed. My goal is to graduate as not only a new nurse, but a new and healthier me. In the next year, I will work to create and live a healthier lifestyle both for myself and my family.

My Goals:
For the year to come.... I will live my life one day at a time by planning and utilizing the healthy habits I am establishing this year! In time, I believe I will reach a weight that is healthy for me and be able to maintain it permanently.

My Program:
Learning and following SP guidelines for planning my meals and eating, as well as making sure I include some physical activity every day, with 30 minutes of exercise 4x/wk...Reading a positive quote each day, and participating in the message boards to stay focused and motivated!

Personal Information:
I am 51, 261.3 lbs (May 29), mother of 2 girls, 3 boys, several exchange students and foster children over the past 25 years, and the blessed wife of one very special man. We live in central Oklahoma. Until I was injured in a car accident 7 years ago, the heaviest I had ever been was 148 lbs. and that was when I was pregnant with my youngest daughter! During the two years following the accident, I was told I'd never walk again and that I'd be having several surgeries (16 of them, but I CAN walk)...I took an enormous helping of self-pity and topped it off with equally huge toppings of self-indulgence and procrastination and became an unhappy, unhealthy person. That was then....This is now: I am in the nursing program at OSU with a 3.86 GPA, and in another three semesters I will graduate. This summer I am working to get the physical me to a healthier, happier place.

I just wanted to post a quick Welcome to the Chair Exercise TEAM. We're so glad to have you join us. Please jump in and have a good time getting healthy. This is an excited group of folks and really active team so you should be able to find all sorts of inspiration and motivation. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. There's always someone willing to help in any way possible. Don't forget to use the food/water tracker that spark people provides as well as the fitness tracker. These are excellent resources that will help keep you on the path you've chosen. Come on... let's get healthy TOGETHER!!! Together WE can do anything! Glad to see you in OKC we are an active team ... and not just in cyberspace, one of the great things about a local team is we can actually meet up and we do!

So if you like privacy, yes, we are here, and if you want to actually get out and walk with some one at a park, we regularly have Walk and talks, plus we have other activities. So check out our Forums and I'll see you in the Huddle!

Welcome to The Chair Exercise Team!!!
We are an active and friendly team and love our exercise .. we not only cater for disabilities, a lot of our members just love the chair exercise and the camaraderie of this team.
We are here to help you to realise your dream of fitness and health dispite disabilities, in fact we encourage Exercise of some sort or another.
We also encourage our members to look after their Nutrition.
This is most important, as it is hard enough being disabled in some way let alone not eating well and feeling good.
We have several challenges going on and heaps of fun thing to do!
feel free to join in .. and start your journey with us to fitness and health.
