Keeping a food journal is nothing new for me, I've been writing them -on and off- for the past ten years. I believed, even before it became fashionable, that there is some kind of connection between food and mood. In fact I journal just about everything, I love to write. Keeping a food journal is nothing new for me, I've been writing them -on and off- for the past ten years. I believed, even before it became fashionable, that there is some kind of connection between food and mood. In fact I journal just about everything, I love to write. I keep journals the way most people keep photographs, only I try to capture my pictures with words. I have found the times I have kept a food journal, were the times when I felt at my best, had more energy and felt more -for lack of a better word- connected. The down-side of journaling is the time it takes to really be involved -before Sparks I would literally write down each and every calorie. My goals at that time were not so much to lose weight, but to see what I was putting into my body and the way I felt about it.. Keeping a journal has helped me in so many ways. Yet while in nursing school, and with two children ages 15 and 4, the only journal I kept was a "clinical" journal, to help me get through a very stressful experience. I got through the experience and passed my State Boards of Nursing just this past November, but along with that accomplishment came some weight that I am not comfortable in. And now that I'm 41 (soon to be 42) the weight, much to dismay, I'm finding out isn't coming off as easily or as quickly as it once was. So here I am, looking for support and looking to take my food journaling to a new level! I am celebrating my first week anniversary here at Sparks today...and so far I am enjoying it! This is exactly what I was looking for ten years ago! Sure beats writer's cramp!!! Hopefully I'll be posting some blogs soon, and you are more than welcome to check them out. Until then.....

My Goals:
To rid myself of the "junk in my Trunk" and tune up my internal engine.
My Program:
Lots of water -tracking everything I eat -Trying to incorporate more veggies into my diet -A little wine every now and again -And a lot of prayer
Personal Information:
-My name is Tammy, and I will be turning 42 on March 3rd, 2008. I am not looking for a "quick-fix" or I don't think I'm going through any mid-life kind of thing, I think I am like everyone else, always evolving, a work in progress, though the goals I have are pretty much the same as they have always been for the past twenty years, only the reasons behind them have changed.
Other Information:
I am a mother of a wonderful fifteen year old girl and a beautiful four year old little boy. -I love, as you know to journal, but what I love even more than that is reading the work of others, especially Dean R. Koontz, and Stephen King (There is so much more to Stephen King than just horror...what a wonderful human he is) -I love the Brady Bunch! Have all five of their season (yes I am cheesy like that!!)
