Hello Spark Friends.
Summer 2010 found me in the hospital again. Not as bad as 2009 but still bad.
I am here again to try and make a healthy change. Not blaming it all on steroids but when they put me on steroids I gained another 70 lbs that I sure didn't need. I have lost 17-20 of that extra tonage but still have a long way to go. I'm trying again.........
Well we all know my goals didn't happen. I ended up in the hospital. I am better now but being in a bed for months took whatever muscle tone I had and I had to learn to walk, write, feed myself, everything in our everyday life we think will always be there. I have good days and I have bad days. I started back to work on Sept 28th and altho it is great to be receiving a paycheck and being with my friends it sure has taken it's toll on me.
My goals for the next 30 days are:
a protein shake for breakfast.
A fresh green salad everyday or cut up veggies.
Eat more chicken and fish.
No fried foods.
Walk everyday for at least 15 minutes.
Post my results every day.
I will make a spreadsheets of my goals and post it on my fridge or carry it with me and check it off everyday to make sure I am meeting my goals.
I try to start fresh every month and it works for a little while. But by the time the middle of the month gets here I have fallen off the wagon. I will see how this 30 day plan works for me. It's only for 30 days.
I've got to do something to start losing and being healthier again.
I spent 2 weeks in Vegas. What a wonderful time. I was sick the first 10 days but enjoyed Vegas with Allergy meds and a box of tissues at all times.
My daughter and her family moved to Vegas June 1 2008 and this was the first time I've been there. They are right.,..that city never sleeps on the strip. My favorite place was Freemont street and the Bellagio Hotel but I loved it all. I had to come back and make more $$ since I was not the woman who won all that money on Easter Sunday. I had a great time and will go again!!!
Another year is HERE and I still don't have much in weightloss to show for it. I found SP while looking for something else on December 31, 2005 and finally started using SP about this time 3 years ago.
I was excited that I found a place that would help me. I lost 52 lbs the first 6 months I was on here. I was excited and proud. My clothes were fitting better and some where becoming way too big to wear. My pants legs were becoming longer due to my legs becoming thinner and so the pants hung instead of bunching up in places. I had to buy all new undies and I was beaming.
I was proud to exercise (ALMOST) every day. I would walk for two hours a day and it felt great. I would exercise in our shower room bathroom on my lunch hour. I was really into it.
THEN..... I changed jobs within the same corporation but it was a new location, new rules, new benefits, no shower room bathroom and different people. And I missed my friends, my job duties and all I had left behind.
I just lost all motivation to continue and went back to my old habits of not eating breakfast , snacks or lunch. I would only have coffee or water. I knew most of the people I work with but it was entirely different and I plunged hard into my work to prove I was worthy of my new position.
Now It's a new year and a new beginning for me. I learned that with those lbs gone I was much better at climbing stairs, less winded, could bend down and pick stuff off the floor and I enjoyed much more of everything. I didn't mind parking further from the store. Shoveling snow was no longer a dreaded chore but in fact a good calorie burn and it helped with firm muscles. I could sit at my desk without a big flab of fat sitting on my lap (IE jelly belly)
I am going to stick to the middle of the road and not take so many side trips.
There are so many people on here that have done wonderful and I just sit back and watch them transform and think to myself...Wish I could have that determination. The problem is I sit here and they are out moving their bodies, making a difference.
I have what it takes to be healthier. I just need to make better choices.
It's the exercise I need. I have an almost non resting metabolism per my doctor due to not having a thyroid. I forget to take my meds some days (I am better at it most of the time). I know.... NOT GOOD.
I "KNOW" what I need to do, just have to get the mind and body to talk to each other.
The greatest part of SparkPeople is that I have made some of the best friends in the world here and gained lots of knowledge.
