New Beginnings

I have been battling my weight my whole life and have decided within the past year to take matters into my own hands due to my health. I have been in denial for the longest time and would not admit to myself that I have a weight problem. I never believed that it would affect my health, EVER! In the past, I never had health issues and felt like I was not going to either because I never have, but now I realize that I am not void of the ailments that can effect you with being obese.

Do not be mistaken, this is not an easy task and if anyone tells you that, then they are lying. I am determined to become healthy. I am not trying to be skinny, I just want to be at a healthy weight that I can live with. I have seen the proposed weight for my height. I look at that and ask myself, "Are they serious?" Really!?! I want to be healthy not waif thin. I have seen a chart were it stated that if I had a small frame then I would need to be between 111-124, medium frame 121- 135 and a large frame 131-147. I guess I verge on the large frame because I haven't been those other sizes since I was in grade school and junior high. I was very active in sports then.

So, I have recommitted myself to this healthy journey. It isn't going to be easy, but nothing worth having ever is. Won't you come and join me!

I saw your comments on the sports bra article-- As a 40 G/H-- I KNOW! Check out Freya-- But it is UK sizing. when you choose a size, it will tell you USA size in a purple box above-- they are spendy, but they last. Buy just one and go back to Zumba-- you won't be sorry!

I know what you mean by having a free gym on site and not using it. We have this amazing walking trail about 5 minutes from my house. It has exercise stations set up along the entire path. There's a place to stretch, a place for cardio (elliptical, ski machine, etc.) and a place to do strength training for your legs, arms and abs using your own body weight. And what do I do? Drive right on by it!

Girl, things have got to change soon! I've been overweight for 20 + years and my health is starting to suffer. My bones are killing me under all these pounds.

I was reading the last comment left on your blog by CRISSA1669. Wow, talk about motivation. I went to her page and she's a runner. I can't run, but I can walk. So, I guess that's where I'll start.

I saw your blog entry about missing your workout this morning....like another Sparker said, the day is not over yet....make the time to finish what you said you would do.
I wanted to leave you a message to hopefully encourage you! I see your weight is 273 pounds...that was my EXACT starting weight(you can see the pix on my page)....on March 28, 2011. That was the day I decided to change. I started tracking my food faithfully and working out faithfully. I planned my workout by the month and I am faithful to do them....am I motivated?...sometimes...but I spend 25 years morbidly obese..so if I have no motivation I have common sense to know that I could not live the rest of my life carrying around that much weight and not expect to reap the consequences...today I weigh about 179 pounds(hopefully 176 but weigh day is Wed)...and my results are ONLY because I followed through. Yes, you will have days where you absolutely can not get the exercise in...so be it....but you can always track your food and be accountable. Work this like a job...commit yourself and be faithful in completing what you set out to do. You heath is SO worth the effort!!! I wish you the best in this journey, you can do this...I'm doing it and I am certainly nobody special :)
