Hey! My name's Brooke. I'm a third-year college student, studying Pre-Health and Spanish. All that school has not exactly been so nice to me, so I'm trying to lose some weight, show off the muscles I know I have, love my body, and live a happy, healthy LIFEstyle! :)
- lose 40 pounds
- drop 2-3 pant sizes
- be able to bench my weight
- have sexy, pretty woman abs
- feel confident running around in a bikini (sounds shallow, but it's a lot harder than you'd think!)
- make it a LIFEstyle (not just a diet) to:
- eat healthy (minimally to no processed foods, all natural and/or organic)
- exercise 5 times a week
I have a nutrition plan (I don't want to call it a diet.): no grazing, limit caloric intake through drinks (coffee drinks and sweet tea), eat every 4 hours, eat all natural and/or organic/minimally processed as much as humanly and financially possible, drink my weight in ounces of water every day, and know what I'm getting nutritionally out of every single thing I'm putting in my mouth.
I'm also going to start off just doing "easy" workouts and then build-up to a more intensive workout, all including cardio and strenght-training.

sounds like you have your work cut out for you. Being in school and struggling (who isnt?) makes it really hard. Make no mistake, it is tough but at the same time, you also realize that when it is the toughest, thats when you need to take care of yourself the most.
All I can really say is that you will have to take a hard look at where you are at and then set reasonable goals, taking your challenges into consideration. no one wants to cop out and make excuses ( I know you dont) but you dont want to set the bar really high when you have so many demands. I wish you the best in finding a balance.

Hey Brooke, Im glad you are chugging along the best you can. Being in college is no picnic and the stress alone can be enough to derail you. been there done that got the T shirt.
I went to school when I got laid off and gained 20 lbs in 4 months because of all of the fear, stress, adapting to a new routine etc....
you have friends here, and of course there is always me but the main thing is to stay focused on what is in front of you right now, what you are eating that moment or doing or whatever. it is too easy to let stuff whizz by and not think about what you are doing (i know). hang in there girl!
