I've decided it has to be good enough for me to manage my compulsive eating rather than beat it, which implies to me it will go away as a problem and I'll never have to think about it again. But even slim people often moderate what they eat, though I'm sure their desires to overeat are much weaker. I don't know if that's inspiring or not, but I think most compulsive eaters can learn to manage it.

I hear ya, girl. I am finally feeling my loss of mojo in my clothes for the first time in years. I'm finding it so easy to forget why I want to change this in the moments of temptation. It's so easy AFTER slipping to see why! I know part of my problem is that I feel I can't compartmentalize it, as it seems to relate to other areas of my life that are just as, if not more, problematic. But maybe I'm the one turning the situations into problems... I keep thinking something is going to help me turn the corner on all this rumination...

“Perfectionism is the voice of the oppressor, the enemy of the people. It will keep you cramped and insane your whole life....... I think perfectionism is based on the obsessive belief that if you run carefully enough, hitting each stepping-stone just right, you won't have to die. The truth is that you will die anyway and that a lot of people who aren't even looking at their feet are going to do a whole lot better than you, and have a lot more fun while they're doing it.” ~Anne Lamott

Have a great 'imperfect' weekend!! I thought this quote might help! I love it!
