So 2010 is the beginning of a new decade as is the beginning to a new me. I hate making new year's resolutions because I never keep them hence being able to fail. But I'm going to start out fresh and new...again, like so many times before. It seems like I'm always "going to start my diet on Monday" for the last year. I will say though that I love food. I love cooking it and I love eating it. I've always been a fast food fanatic and junk food junkie. I've tried every diet imaginable but ...

By exercising and eating healthy. I've just got to find what works for me.

My Goals:
I have set specific goals when I lose so many pounds. Hopefully that will keep motivated and give me something to look forward to.
1. 185-Buy the pair of hight heel shoes I've had my eye on for the last couple of weeks
2. 180-Buy a new book
3. 175-Dinner and a movie with hubby
4. 170-Buy a new purse
5. 165-Buy a new outfit
6. 160-Get a pedicure
7. 155-Buy some jewelry
8. 150-Girl's night out
9. 145-Buy a new book
10.140-Buy new outfit
11.135-Weekend getaway with my hubby.

My Program:
I am dusting off my trusty Slim in 6 DVDs. I want to eat healthy and make smaller portions. I love to cook from my homemade 6 week body makeover cookbook. It's full of recipes that members have added to their website and all the recipes are salt free and use tons of fresh herbs and spices. I'm not necessarily following the program but I like the food.

Personal Information:
My name is Karla and I'm from Texas. I just turned 30 but feel much older because of my weight. I also have a facebook page if you would like to look me up there as well. I am married to a wonderful man for 5 years. We have a beautiful little girl named Clara Kate that turned 1 year old in December 09. I love to read Spark mail so send me a message. I love to have buddies!!

Other Information:
I love to read. I like the mystery or thriller books opposed to romance novels. And I'd rather read/collect a series. It always keeps looking forward to the next one. My favorite authors are Nora Roberts, Sandra Brown, Jan Burke, Particia Cornwell; the famous ones, you know? If you have any suggestions that you love, please pass them on to me. I'm always up for new novels.

Ok, i need to get my butt in gear! I have just ate junk here at work the past two nights. I guess i just want to fail at this! My gosh i don't know what my deal is. I just can't seem to say no. This is really getting frustrating! I keep saying well, i'll do better tomorrow and i don't! Thomas kinda got upset with me when i told him i had a piece of pizza at work tonight. He made a pot of beans and deer sausage for dinner and i brought some to work. So when he called to ask how they were i told him i had pizza instead. I think i hurt his feelings. :( I tasted the beans later and found out i can not eat them bc they are too hot and salty. I told him they were good though. All this stuff he keeps telling me about what i should and should not eat is starting to sink in though. I could here him saying how bad that pizza is for me in the back of my mind while eating it. I still ate it though! I didn't dare tell him about the coke i had with it too! So now i'm hiding things bc i know i'm not supposed to have them. He's trying to help me and i keep messing up. I did not even work out today bc i was just soooo.... tired. I need to quit eating crap and stop making excuses for not working out. Sheesh! I guess him getting upset was kind of a wake up call. I will never reach my goal this way. Why is it so hard to say no now? I was able to do it a couple years ago. I was good at it too. I'm just so disappointed with myself. I wanted to lose 4 lbs this week but now have gained 2! I'm going to work out for 45 min. in the morn. for sure. NO MATTER WHAT!
How have the past few days been for you?

Wow, that's so weird. Pretty much the same thing happened with me last night except it was my nemisis again, donuts. Somebody brought some to work again. If i just would say no i will be ok. I'm getting there though. There is still some cake in the fridge at work and i did not have any. Again, maybe next week will be better right? I lost 5 lbs last week and really would like to lose 4 this week. I'm going to try really hard from here on out. My goal next week is no donuts or cake! I keep saying if i can make it 5 weeks i can do this for sure. I have not made it one day without messing up yet! I have a vegetable beef soup cooking right now so i know dinner will be good. I am working out good though. At least 4 days a week. I did 30 min. on the elliptical this morning even though i had a headache bc i felt so bad about the donuts. So today's weight is the same as it was yesterday. I just cancelled everything thing out and did not gain or lose anything. Maybe i can get some energy up and get on the treadmill in a few minutes. I would like to lose either 1/2 a lb or 1 lb a day. It's possible. I just have to work harder and eat smarter! I guess i'll go have some salad for lunch so it does not go bad this time. :P Hope you have a better week from here on out. Stay in touch! emoticon emoticon

So how is it going for you this week? I had a setback yesterday but got over it today. First my coworker asked me to have some donuts with him. I could have said no but i didn't. Then later that night i slipped and fell in the kitchen at work. My leg was hurting so bad i had a piece of cake. What kind of sense does that make? I am doing better today and just chalked yesterday to a bad day. I still logged the donuts in my food log but my gosh i was way over calories yesterday. I'm trying to stay between 1,200-1,500 calories a day. I am logging everything in my food journal too. If i just stick with this, i know i can get back to how i was a couple years ago. I've been reading the USA Today diet/fitness page everyday. Trying to learn something i don't already know about this stuff. So far, nothing new. I just need to say no to sweets when offered and keep up my exercise routine. I want to start working out twice a day. Once in the morning when i get off work and then in the evening before i go lay down for my nap. I have a crazy schedule. I'm going to try and get more sleep too. That is a big thing you need when trying to lose weight.
Have you worked out any this week? How has your diet been? I want to hear all about it. I'm actually excited about this year and want to seriously lose this weight and stay healthy in the process. No injuries. I have to be careful and listen to my body when it tells me to take it easy. Hope you are having a great week! emoticon emoticon

I do also hope this is the last surgery for Nick for a very long time. That is just terrible he has to go through all this pain. And i do hope you get that job if it is where you want to be. I know the one you have now can get to you at times. I will pray for you guys. A new baby and the start of a new house sounds like a good plan for this year! It feels like it is going to be a good year for us too. I just know i am going to stick with this weight loss. I've started logging my food on here and of course the exercise. I've done good so far this week. But then the first 10 lbs are always the easiest to lose. Hopefully Thomas will help keep me on track. Once he gets some new shoes and his feet get better, i'm sure he will get back to walking with me. But he is helping keep me in line with eating sweets and processed foods. That is a biggie right there.
That would be great to have you check in a couple times a week! We really gotta stick with this and lose those 40 lbs! I would love to lose 2 lbs a week or at least 10 lbs a month. Realistically i know i can probably lose about 5lbs a month if i don't give up. That is what i was able to do a few years ago. I can't believe it's been that long now. I got hurt and then just never got my eating back under control. So i was eating all the wrong stuff and working out and not losing anything. I am glad i kept at the working out though. Makes it easier to keep that a habit. I would like to join the YMCA maybe next month after Thomas gets his feet back to normal. Poor guy. I am happy for him that he keeps losing weight. I think it's bc he is eating lunch again all the time. When he was not, his body was hording the fat and not losing it as fast. He's down to 227 now. He only wants to get to 200 or maybe 180-190. He said he is happy now. Must be nice to be a guy and be happy with yourself but still lose weight without even trying! MEN!!! :)
Talk to you later girl! Have a good week.
