Wash, Rinse, Repeat!

Ok, so I'm not a shampoo bottle, but I needed a little something more than try, try again...

This is now my third time on Sparkpeople, and I'm no longer doing it for myself. I want to be a motivating and inspirational resource for my friends and loved ones.

My Goals:
Initially, I want to lose enough weight to lower my blood pressure and get off my meds....

My next goal is to be in single digit clothes (I'm starting as a size 20).

As for long, long term-I want to qualify for the Boston Marathon!

My Program:
Monitoring portion size, eating when hungry (and NOT eating when bored), and excercising regularly.

I currently am working with a personal trainer, and getting back into running.

Personal Information:
I work for an social service agency that provides adoption and foster resources, pregnancy counseling and residential care for children with developmental disabilities. It's a great place to work, and I love 'making a difference', but things can get pretty stressful.

Other Information:
I'm a vegetarian, and once upon a time, I ran a marathon.

Saint Louis Spark People Rally-Please Come!!!

OK, so how's the MO Botanical Garden on July 17 at 9 a.m. sound? We could meet at the Visitor's Center and walk around for 2 hours-there's a 'Health Fair' going on the same day, too! If you're a resident of St. Louis County or St. Louis City, admission is FREE before noon-otherwise it's $8 for adults...the place opens at 9 a.m., so it wouldn't be quite as hot then, but we could do 10 as well...lots to do/see here & plenty of walking exercise & time to get to know fellow STL 'Sparkers'!!!

Hope to see you there-families welcome-check out the Botanical website for admission

Thanks for the comment on my page! To answer your question about my shoes, we went to the Big River Running Company in South City. They have a store in West County as well.
