How much water is enough? Experts say eight glasses a day, but it really depends on your individual body chemistry and the amount of physical activity you get a day. For most of us, more water is better. Here are some tips for keeping hydrated: Sip 4 8 ounces (1/2 1 cup) of water every 15 30 minutes. Carry a water bottle and fill it regularly. You should be going to the bathroom every 1-2 hours. When you go to the bathroom, it should be clear. You should never feel thirsty. Thirst is an indicator of dehydration. Drink cold water to burn more calories. Remember, your body is constantly trying to maintain a temperature of 98.6 degrees F. One calorie is burned in order to heat 1 gram of water 1 degree C. The colder the water, the more calories you burn.
