Hello, welcome to my page. My name is Tammy and I have struggled with weight my whole life (since teen years). The picture here is me on my wedding day June 13 after I lost almost 40 pounds. Hello, welcome to my page. My name is Tammy and I have struggled with weight my whole life (since teen years). The picture here is me on my wedding day June 13 after I lost almost 40 pounds. I am determined to overcome and to be strong. I am married to a wonderful man. I have several children and two stepchildren that I want to set a good example for as well as have energy for.

Since I have joined Sparkpeople, I have made so much progress. I love the team support and the tools for tracking weight loss, nutrition, exercise, and even personal goals. I am finally, for once in my life, cooking, and enjoying it as well. I am fully satisfied most of the time and don't feel deprived on this program. I really feel I am making lifestyle changes this time that will last the rest of my life. I love you all and wish you the best on your lifestyle change journey! Well it is now June 24. I am so happy with how I was able to meet my goals and with what a perfect wedding and honeymoon I had. I started in January at 205 and ended on June 12 at 167! I did gain a couple pounds on the honeymoon but I'm back on track. I worked very hard to earn points to buy the spark goodie Dream Wedding and I did it. 10,000 points. That was a LOT of work and wore me out but it did help me reach goals and I did have a real dream wedding! Now I am going to work to stay between 1700 and 1800 calories a day and workout at least 45 minutes a day the rest of my life. Eventually I expect to reach 125 pounds and maintain that since 1760 calories are required to maintain that weight. But this way the pressure is off to obtain goals by a certain date and I can focus on a permanent lifestyle change and develop consistency. I saved a lot of articles during my quest to lose for the wedding and I am going to read those because I learned the articles keep me motivated and keep reminding me of how important it is for my good health, to manage my weight.

Thank you to all my spark friends who have supported me along my journey and thank you, God, for helping me reach goals and find this wonderful man I'm married to now.

Well, it is July 14 and I veered off track after my wedding and gained almost 10 pounds back. This is very humbling after all my progress. I am going to reward myself for every week I just stay on track with my nutrition and exercise goals. I have a great job at Curves which helps me be reminded of how important my health is. I am taking it one day at a time, and with God's help, I will reach my long term goal of losing the weight and then keeping it off for life.

My Goals:
1. My goal weight is 122-125.

2. I want to reach this goal by June 13, 2010

3. Keep my weight stable for the rest of my life. (vary 0-3 lb. either way)

My Program:
1. Eat a balanced diet and drink enough water.

2. Workout on Curves machines 35 minutes 3 days a week.

3. Do a cardio workout 3 days a week.

4. Do a yoga workout on Sunday and stretch daily.

4. Journal daily.

5. Get help with emotional eating struggles.

6. Stay within calorie goals for the day.

7. Reward myself for every ten pounds.

Personal Information:
My name is Tammy. I live in Springfield, Oregon. I have four wonderful children, a terrific husband, and two precious step-sons. My children have been through alot with abuse and neglect from their father. I struggle with bi-polar disorder and have been stable for the most part for eleven years, thanks to God and the wonderful support he puts around me. I am learning how to love myself better. I have struggled with weight all my life and I am determined to get completely free and make this an issue from the past like others that I have overcome with God's help. I give God all the glory for the blessings and achievements I have and have made. He has been so good to me. I want to learn to trust him more and more. I have learned that I have turned to food partly in an attempt to protect myself and comfort myself. I am slowly learning that God is my Protector and God is my Comfortor. And his comfort and protection is real and not temporary.

I love reading the Bible and journaling in my Life Journal.
