The splitter would work great on wood other than elm. It does have a lot of vibration from slamming a weight that slides down a pipe to hit the splitter. It is not recommended to try to use it on knotty wood.
The joints in my fingers stiffen after using it and sometimes my hands quiver after using it.
It was around $145 with UPS delivery. The cost was much less than a regular splitter and I could carry it in and out of the house by myself which appealed to me. 1859 days ago
I haven't been to the grocery store yet. We had a big fight on our anniversary and hubby hasn't been kissing me or telling me he loves me. I am depressed. I did drop three pounds, so that is good.
We are to get rain starting tonight until Saturday. My daughter's boyfriend is supposed to spend the weekend with us. Busy times ahead.
Princess tore my window blinds apart in our bedroom today and I will have to get new ones. 1887 days ago
I loved my job at Big Lots. I quit twice to take care of my Mom and when I went back the second time, they cut my pay from $8.50 an hour, to $7.55 an hour. I thought I would get a raise after three months since I was rehired, but that didn't happen either, so I applied at KMart and started there at $8.25 an hour.
At KMart, one guy would be gone a week (he was an crack addict) and come back and they kept his job for him. I had poison on my arms and they said I couldn't have time off. Eventually, I had 4 people telling me what they expected me to get done at night and I was working my breaks and lunch trying to get it all accomplished. I was going to physical therapy twice a week for my back. KMart had boxes they called shippers which were about 4 feet long that were filled with packaged men's underwear. They had to go on the top of the shelves. I complained and told them about my back and was told to dump them into a cart, carry the empty box to the top of the shelves, and then go up and down a ladder to fill the box from the cart. I quit and I told them I wasn't giving them a notice or they would work me like crazy for 14 days.
I do have my limits and I have only one body. If it is ruined, they really don't care.
I know about the insurance and I told Big Lots that when I drove to work and they asked me to go to the bank. Yes, you get a reimbursement for gasoline, but if you were to wreck with another employee in the car, there could be a law suit from that person and I never knew if I would be covered by insurance if someone tried to hurt me while I was going somewhere for the company.
