Livin' the 5:2 / Low Carb life...

I'm a Jesus girl and have struggled with weight all my life. Intermittent fasting along with low carb unprocessed foods is getting me to goal.

Low carb was recommended by a doctor and it has helped me reduce my migraines from 15 per month to maybe 1 every two months... now that is amazing! It is also responsible for giving my husband his health back and he is now completely off high blood pressure medication.

The 5:2 Fast Diet has given me the most weight loss ...

The 5:2 Fast Diet has given me the most weight loss to date. I couldn't lose weight eating low carb alone. Fasting 2-3 times per week (500-700 calories on those days) is what I needed to achieve weight loss. (This Intermittent Fasting "diet" can be done with any choice of foods.)

My Goals:
New Year Goals for 2015:
1. Remove all my big clothes from the closet and replace them with well fitting clothes.
2. Get to my 170 lb. goal.
3. Read the whole Bible!

Happy to write that I accomplished all my goals for once in my life. : )

2016 Goals:
Get into a "healthy BMI" weight range... and stay there. I also want to improve upon my aerobics.

Spark on the teams as much as possible. Sparking helps tremendously to keep on or get back on track.

Keep movement, low carb, and IF in my journey to great health.

Weigh every day possible.

BEGIN every morning reading the Bible and in prayer.

Weight History...
My weight has been as high as 298 lbs and of course that comes with lots of health issues. I have eaten low carb for years without much weight loss but did get my other health issues back on track with these whole foods.

On June 17, 2014 (at 242 lbs) my health journey changed in a positive way with the addition of intermittent fasting. I am currently down 70 lbs and my health is better at age 52 than it was at 30.

HI Tammae, The paleo foods they recommend work out really expensive for me, though maybe not for you (as you are in a farming area) all corn and pasture fed animal product and organic fruit and veg. I have to rely on cheapest cuts and whatever fruit and veg is on offer at the supermarket. BUT I suppose I am now on lower carbs! I am not following it 100% and don't see me staying on it, however, have cut out bread, refined sugar, most processed food and a lot of dairy except a bit of milk (for 2 weeks trial) I am only on day 3 and am going mad for cheese and bread!!!!

I enjoyed your comment about eating too much broccoli. Once I ate too much collard greens and oh my goodness. Any one stopped up should try eating a pound of collard greens, lol!
