Low carb is for me...

I'm a Jesus girl and have struggled with weight all my life. Intermittent fasting along with low carb unprocessed foods is getting me to goal. Low carb foods are responsible for giving my husband his health back and he is now completely off high blood pressure medication. I am off all my meds too except for a scrip I use when necessary for that rare migraine.

I used to get migraines every day. I took so much medication I started losing my memory... reading information ...

I used to get migraines every day. I took so much medication I started losing my memory... reading information incorrectly... & started losing my way driving home in a small town. I had skin sensitivity and could not be in the sunshine for two years without itching and burning. These meds slowed my heart rate and fatigued my body. I began to wonder what was worse... the headache or the side effects from the medications.

A doctor at a Headache Clinic suggested the low carb diet. When I went on low carb I only lost 20 lbs but the headaches were less. I had to convince my regular MD to remove me from meds... I had to be very proactive and of course he did but wanted me to add more "better" meds. I refused to add more and today rarely have a headache. My doctor is amazed.

Jump to June 2014... I watched a documentary on You Tube titled "Eat, Fast, and Live Longer". I wanted to lose weight... but also the thought of my body repairing itself was interesting. I dropped 10 lbs the first two weeks of 4:3. Lost 43 lbs by Christmas. Wow... and it really does get easier to fast when you keep busy.
After Christmas I got lazy and ate sugary foods... we all know how the holidays can sneak in foods we would otherwise skip. Gained 4 lbs by the end of my Jan 2015 as I didn't fast correctly that month.

I'm writing this Feb 1st, 2014 and am going back to 4:3 with LCHF... and this makes me very happy. I refuse to let the lbs creep back on my body. For the first time in my life I know this weight can come off and I plan to be the most healthy post menopausal woman around!

My Goals:
May 2015 is our 25 Wedding Anniversary. I would like to be at my goal weight (or very close) by the time we take a celebratory vacation trip.

I also have a goal to be forced to get rid of all my old clothes and purchase new well fitting and smaller sizes! I want to clean out the closet!!!

New Year Resolution:
Get to my 170 lb. goal.
Read the whole Bible!
Jog one mile without stopping. Tough one!

June - December 2014:
IF with Low Carb 4:3 and 18:6 most feed days for 6 months.

2015:
Continue with what is working... IF and Low Carb Food High Fat food choices.

Weight History...
My weight has been as high as 298 lbs and I have been struggled 95% of my life with this issue. I've dieted all my life and have finally at age 51 figured out what works. Low Carb with Intermittent Fasting.
2010 (265)...Weight Watchers
2012 (240)...Low Carb Diet
2014 (242)...Still Low Carb

June 17, 2014 ...Started 4:3 IF with low carb and dropped over 40 lbs by Christmas (199).
Went off low carb/IF slightly in January with a total gain of 5 lbs. Low carb IF will be my WOE forever.

Feb 1, 2015 ... 204 lbs.
