Well, I've got the tall part down pat...

Now I need to work on the lean!!!

While life is but a vapor--here today and gone tomorrow--I'd like to work on making this the best life that I can, and that includes getting healthy.

So here I am, at age 36, trying to work towards becoming a healthy person, a good steward of the life and body God has given me. Truly I am just hoping to meet some new people with like-minded goals and interests, to learn more about health and fitness, and to one day embody ...

My Goals:
1.) Short term: get to 290's by mid Feb. **met 2/26/07**

Mid Term: get to 250 by my 37th birthday (end of Aug)

Long term: get to my goal weight of 170 by my 38th birthday.

2.) Do some form of exercise 4x a week, for a minimum of 30mins per day.

3.) Feel comfortable in my own skin.




My Program:
Nutrition: I heartily ascribe to the South Beach diet principles as I've found that my body responds very well to its precepts, that being: lean meats/fish, lots of veggies, low GI fruits, whole grains, good carbs and good fats, plus a whole lot a water. It really is a healthy lifestyle of eating.

Exercise: I've got a case full of exercise dvds. I'm using the Biggest Loser 1&2 workouts right now, as well as "Blast and Tone". Strength train 3x week.

Eventually plan to incorporate the treadmill and elliptical into my regimen

Books: anything penned by Jeffery Deaver, or Harlan Coben; A Confederacy of Dunces "my valve is open!" man was that funny...

Movies: all time favorite is Simon Birch

Music: love a wide array of tunes, and genres, but I admit I could never really get into country-western or heavy metal

Hi,
Just browsing Spark Pages and found yours. We're about the same age and I've enjoyed reading some of your blogs; you write very well.
I've been a member at Spark for one month now, lost 3lbs and a few inches. Slow and Steady wins the Race, is my mantra.
So... congratulations on your exceptional progress thus far. I can't wait to read more about your success in the weeks and months to come.

Hey girlie! Thanks for the quick note! I am so darn glad that you got the internet thing taken care of! Yippy! I am doing much better this week and I am about a day away from a full blown Aunt Flow visit....ack! The scale has been kind, so maybe I was having issues LAST week due to retention.

My hubby is off working out of town for the next two weeks so it's just me, myself and I. I don't mind the first few days but after about 3-4 then I start to get bored! My house stays so clean though! He claims he isn't messy, but I know that not to be true!!

We'll off to get my daughter from school.....12 days left!

Hey girlie. Sorry been MIA again. Still trying to get to feeling better. Arm is better but my ROM is alot different than it was B4 I fell and broke the elbow. Pain is better. Down to just aching and throbbing feeling. This weekend was a litte rough though cause I couldnt get the dang thing to quit aching. PT is going well, but who would have thought that just 1 pound could be so heavy. Go back to the Dr's on the 30th. More x-rays. E-thing is healing nicely, but I had an extra bone forming, whatever that means. He wants to keep an eye on that. If it doesnt dissolve or gets worse, he might have to go in and do surgery to remove it. Am back to doing patient-care. No lifting though!

WOW girl you are on a roll with the weight loss. You are an inspiration to me. I was doing so good then just sorta threw in the towel. I will get back into the swing of things. I PROMISE. Then we can be motivation for each other. I am sad to say that I have gained most of my weight back though. But I know that I can lose it again. Hoping that the doc appt goes well so I can start back going to the gym for atleast CARDIO. gonna be awhile B4 I can do any weight training on my upper body,

The kitten is growing like a weeed. I will get new pics uploaded on here soon. She is 6 weeks old. Eating kitty food. Using the litter box. Now she is beginning to play alot. Her and the dog were playing today. She kept getting his tail when it wagged. LOL. It was so cute. Also she is beginning to shred paper that she finds. Me and her have to have a little talk about that SOoOOOooon. The mommie is doing well too. Think that I am going to take her to the vet soon for a checkup. She is looking a little thin. Might need to get her started on some vitamins.
