I'm a 35 year old mother of 5 amazing children. "You don't look like you have 5 kids!" is something I hear all the time. I'm not as heavy as most people assume a mother of 5 would look, but I'm too heavy for my 4'9" frame. "You carry it in all the right places!" yeah...but I don't want to carry it all!! So, here's to the start of my journey, to making time for myself, and remembering to love myself, no matter what. **My workouts are just as important as packing the kids' lunches.** MUST. MAKE. TIME. FOR. ME! I've struggled with my weight for years. I went through a period where I honestly just didn't think about it. My husband loved me and was attracted to me. I just didn't care. Then my Aunt kindly asked, "He might not care, but are you happy with your body?" The answer was no. So, I joined Spark and I started seeing things differently. It took a while for everything to click, for me to find the path that worked for me. Low carb, high protein, Atkins, slimfast, Hydroxycut... What?! I'm no different than you are. I could sit and eat a trucker's serving of dinner, then go back for seconds. Then have dessert. That was me, for years. I prided myself on being able to eat as much as my husband! As time passed, and I found my life just slipping by me while I kept my butt on the couch, I realized these are not the memories I want to look back on 20 years from now. Do I want to be thin? Sure, who doesn't? More importantly, I want to be healthy. I want to set a good example for my children. I want to teach them what they should and shouldn't eat, and the easiest way to do it? Lead by example.

My Goals:
To be the best ME that I can be!!!


My Program:
Diet:
Fully embraced the Paleo diet (along with my husband and 5 children).
I no longer count calories because I know everything I put in my body is 100% healthy!!
I cannot tell you how absolutely freeing that is.

Exercise:
Strength training 3-4 times a weeks. I went from the weakling that could barely lift a 5lb weight to using 20lbs for dumbbell rows (not a lot, I know, but I WILL get there!).

Focusing on form so that I can eventually deadlift.

(secret goal: to deadlift twice my bodyweight!!)

Can you imagine? Me, standing as tall as I can with my 4'9", walking into the gym where the "big boys" hang out with the weights and deadlifting twice my body weight?!

Heaven.
