As I start this program (6/11/2011), I'm 55 years old and I have more than 100 pounds to lose. I have lost and gained weight my entire life. I have high blood pressure, sleep apnea, and I was recently diagnosed as being pre-diabetic. I will admit that I find it a little depressing when I think how much weight I have to lose and how long that will take. But I don't have a choice. There are so many things that I love to do - such as hiking, dancing, and tai chi - that are being negatively affected by all the weight I'm carrying. And I just remarried to a wonderful woman. I want to live as long and as healthy a life with her as I can.

Heaviest weight ever: 308 pounds
Starting SparkPeople weight: 278.5 pounds
Goal weight: 170 pounds

Im great, thanks for asking. :-) .... Im a little discouraged about how much weight I have put on (about 30lbs) but I know I will get back on track after the new year and my baby is born (Due Jan 5th). Pregnancy is rough but worth it.

How have you been?

~ Jess

Thank you for the words of comfort on Onyx's passing yesterday. It was a tough night but Spark friends helped ease the hurt.

Hey man,

Thanks for dropping by my "Building a Bike Trail" blog. The 1/2 barrel planter has has never saved anybody from driving into the Ravine of Death. However, a number of people backing out of our driveway, in an effort to miss the 1/2 barrel, have back into the car eating tree on the opposite side of the driveway!

The 1/2 barrel has to go for the greater good!

Thanks, Bruce

Lol, I bought the cupckaes for a couple of reasons...my family does baking, like cake pops, cupcakes etc and these were really clever so I bought them. Although, now that I think k about it, I could have just taken a picture!!!

Also, my hubby loves desserts and he has zero weight problem. In fact he could gain a few, so he can eat stuff like that. By the way, I just threw them away. Nobody ate them anyway. Actually hubby had 2 but then they sat. There so they are gone now and I never even ate one!! Woohoo!

Apparently, I enjoy torture!!!
