My goal is total body and life transformation.

I have been overweight for most of my life, and have unsuccessfully tried to lose weight for most of this time. In fact, I have been on this site for 6 years! WOW! Fail after fail after fail.

Well, fail no longer. All of this time has allowed me to learn a lot about exercise, nutrition and weight loss. As such, I'll be bringing all of this knowledge to bear on this goal. And as have also just turned 40, I feel that the time is right...after all, my life is literally on the ...

I wish you well as you achieve your goals.

My Goals:
To fully transform myself physically and transform my way of living.

Go from a sedentary lifestyle to a physically active one.

Live life to the fullest.

My ultimate goal is aggressive: 170 pounds, 10% body fat. I think this can be realistically achieved in 2 years time.

My Program:
Ultimately, burn body fat while maintaining muscle.

Roughly 2000 calories. Actual amount calculated based on BMR.

My program is based on what I learned through Tom Venuto's books. Supplemented with learnings from a lot of other sources.

Strength: Two day split routine with rest on the third day (if needed). I have a free weights and bodyweight exercise in place. Will rotate between them

Cardio: Elliptical. For now. Exploring options outside of the treadmill as I hate running.

...just trying to keep it simple. Lack of consistency is my biggest weakness.

Personal Information:
Chilled out dude, single, and looking to transform myself.

The holidays can be a stressful time....so much to do...and so little time. De-stress at every opportunity. What does stress do to your health habits? It usually foils them. It takes over your good judgment leaving you at the mercy of comfort foods. Not this year!! Learn to recognize your stress level. Maybe it's your tone of voice. Maybe it's trying to read the same paragraph five times. Maybe it's hearing everyone speak at once but not really listening to anyone. That's when you need to relax. Take a five-minute time-out for yourself. Get away from the crowd. Breathe deeply and relax your muscles. Close your eyes and remember what you're thankful for: When you return to your family, they'll wonder why you look so refreshed!

emoticon The year-end brings no greater pleasure than the opportunity to express good wishes. May your Holidays and the New Year be filled with Happiness! emoticon

HUH?! Being good 90% of the time means we can cheat only ONCE A MONTH?! This is gonna require a major attitude adjustment on my part! But I know some people who have achieved success pretty quickly here, and it seems to me they have totally stopped wanting to cheat in the same way that I do. Their "cheating" is a single glass of wine and a couple of crackers! Somewhere along the way, that became too dainty a snack for me!

But sorry--I didn't mean to start talking about food. I've had a very good day today, and if I can just make it to bedtime (it's 9:15 p.m. here), I can say that I've started a streak, because i was good yesterday, too! Hope you're doing well!
