I am a work in progress

I am a 37 year old married mom of 3 girls. 4, 7, and 14. I have around 160 pounds to lose. I like to walk and read. My goal is to lose 160 pounds by October 2014. That will be 20 years together for me and my husband and I have a great trip planned if I meet my goals.

Congratulations on your progress so far. You have goals similar to mine. Next year will be our 30th and a big trip planned also. I plan to be as fit as possible but will not let whether or not I reach my goal affect our plans. Being with the one we love should be the biggest pay off!

Keep up the great work you are doing so far.

I too have a lot of weight to lose. I try to look at 20 pounds at a time at the most. I use getting below a change number, or a 5 number as a mini goal. Right now I want to get below 280.

Best of luck to you and glad you are here.

Bonnie

You and I should chat. I have about the same amount to lose but I've backslided so many times that I, too, feel I am a work-in-progress but it's a long, painfully slow process. I am 41 with an almost-19-year-old special needs son who is nonverbal. Congrats on your upcoming 20th anniversary. That is quite an accomplishment. Unfortunately, I'll never see that goal as my beloved BF of 15-1/2 years recently passed away unexpectedly. We were never officially married but, to me, he was my husband and I feel like a widow right now. I miss him terribly and I go from having no appetite whatsoever to just wanting to eat to fill that void that's now in my life without him. At my nighest weight I was 298 lbs in 2010. I lost 40 lbs. but then regained 20 back...I'm nwo around 267 and seem stuck. I want to lose 100 lbs. by May 2015 for my counsin's wedding because I vowed that after my last cousin's wedding (Oct 2010), I didnt want to go to another wedding being that size. Now, I'm about 10 lbs. heavier from where I was then and can't seem to get motivated to do anything about it. Right now, it takes all my energy to get up and go into work for a few hours. i come home and all I want to do is sleep. I'm lost without my beloved and don't know what to do with myself. Anyway, if you want to chat more, add me as a friend. Maybe we can encourage each other on this WIP journey. Good luck to you!
