Oh, SparkPeople, how I have fallen off the wagon. I started on here several years ago and managed to lose about 20 lbs quickly. Then Ms Laziness (you know, the lady that tells you to buy the potato chips and not move until you eat them all and other bad advice like that) showed up in the guise of someone I thought I would marry. After watching someone bring nothing but junk into my house and a lovely medication that packed on about forty pounds, I''m not happy with where I am right now. That''s okay, I know I don''t have to stay here. I''ve always been heavy save for a few years of young childhood. I look at my daughter now and know that I don''t want her struggling down the same path as I. I don''t want her to deal with the cruel fat jokes, the isolation, the inability to do things because she''s just too big. I know the best way to teach her is to lead by example so I''m swapping the ice cream for light yogurt, the chips for carrots and celery (this is the hard one, I''m a salt freak) and hoping to do away with the soda and drink tea instead. I''m going to hoist my behind from the couch and walk in the evenings now that it''s not too hot. I''ll even invest in some exercise games for the Wii. In June 2014 I graduated with my MSW and became employed in a field I have a true passion for but leaves very little room for healthy eating and exercise. My budget has shrunken considerably as well so a gym membership is a bit out of the question for now. My exercise options, thanks to lack of gym and space at home, have posed a bit of a challenge. Getting back on track will be hard to accomplish but I''m truly so excited about where I''m going and how far I''ve come that I know I''ll be able to handle it with a smile on my face about 78% of the time :)

This is an excited group of folks and really active team so you should be able to find all sorts of inspiration and motivation. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask. There's always someone willing to help in any way possible. Don't forget to use the food/water tracker that spark people provides as well as the fitness tracker. These are excellent resources that will help keep you on the path you've chosen. Come on... let's get healthy TOGETHER!!! Together WE can do anything!     We are an active and friendly team and love our exercise .. we not only cater for disabilities, a lot of our members just love the chair exercise and the camaraderie of this team.
    We are here to help you to realise your dream of fitness and health in fact, we encourage exercise of some sort or another.
