I'm into my second month here on sparkpeople.com
I still feel I'm at "fast break" level.
That's fine, I'm working on me and that's what this is all about.
I am 42 and have a large family.
My husband and I have been married 4 yrs now. He has 7 children from previous relationships and I have 2, then we have our sweet lil preschooler together. I'm gramma to a sweet lil 9 month old whom is just the cutest little thing. My daughter is a navy wife though and they live 5 hrs ...

My husband and I have been married 4 yrs now. He has 7 children from previous relationships and I have 2, then we have our sweet lil preschooler together. I'm gramma to a sweet lil 9 month old whom is just the cutest little thing. My daughter is a navy wife though and they live 5 hrs away from us so we don't see the baby much at all.
I'm trying to work on both my nutrition and my fitness levels, both of which were sadly neglected for many many years. It's hard to keep track of both. It seems when I do good with one, I slip on the other. Eventually I'll have both on track then I'm sure my body won't be so confused.
I've just left the "overweight" status with BMI and am borderline healthy lol. I keep telling myself it will get there, but man this is slow. They say you don't put the weight on overnight but it sure felt like overnight to me.
This pudge you all see in my photos here......DON'T GET USED TO IT, IT WILL GO AWAY.

Update:
I've been here almost 4 months. I've lost 19 lbs... I'm so ready to break that 20 lb barrier!!!! I have only about 11 lbs left to go. When I started I didn't realize I was 30 lbs overweight. The online BMI calculators have me in a healthy range, but the online body fat calculators have me as overfat......WAY OVERFAT. My current goal is to get into the average zone for that. I want a body fat percentage of about 24%, right now it's at 34% I need to lose about 3 inches on my waist as well as that 10 extra pounds. I need more exercise though I feel like I've taken on so much more exercise since starting. I'm open for suggestions on incorporating more than 40 min. cardio a day and 20 min/ 3 times a week strength. Maybe I'm just not pushing myself hard enough on the cardio???

It's now May and I'm down to 111 lbs. Down to needing to lose only 7 more pounds or so. I consider myself at maintenance weight but still working on toning and sculpting this body so my concentration is on exercise. With that said I'm also closely watching my food intake because I KNOW it's easy to slip back into old habits and I refuse to let that happen again. I try to eat clean, unprocessed most of the time.
I've noticed that in the past once my body starts to sweat and I start to get uncomfortable I stop thinking I've had enough. I'm now trying to push myself beyond that point.
I've started ChaLEAN Extreme AND Sweatsuit to Swimsuit Bootcamp at the same time. I'm excited to see what changes are in store for me. I know I'm doing my body good!!!

Aug. 09 update: I've taken up Running. I need to restart ChaLEAN EXTREME but modified to keep time for my running. I hope to run a half marathon in the spring....preferably barefoot though unsure how the training over the winter will go.

My Goals:
I have lots of goals but overall it's to improve my own self image.

My Program:
I'm cutting calories and exercising for my weight loss goal. I truly need to exercise. I've never participated in any structured exercise in my adult life and I must stay motivated here. I fear diabetes as I had gestational diabetes for my youngest which puts me at higher risk of getting adult onset diabetes which I definitely do not want.

Personal Information:
I'm 42 and live in Greensboro, NC
Mom to 3 ranging in age from 22 down to 2 and stepmom to 7 more.
I love to crochet and used to read but need to get my eyes checked to get back into it. I now spend most of my time playing with my toddler. I'm a nanny who takes care of another 1 yr old child full time.

Other Information:
Anything else you would like to tell people. Could include things like your favorite books or movies, a quote, anything.
