Spark ignited my goal to loose 10lbs and look great at 40. I thought older meant fatter. So not true thanks to using Spark tools and community pages. I plan to look even better at 50!

My Goals:
Now that I've achieved my goals I plan to maintain with a healthy balance of cross training. Eating small meals throughout the day has been essential toward boosting my metabolism. More important is keeping a moderate amount of slow digesting carbs in my diet to promote muscle while burning fat.

My Program:
Eating fresh fruits, veggies, whole grains, chicken and fish is the key to maintaining my weight. Occasionally I eat red meat to provide a little variety.

I exercise early morning and afternoon. I limit each workout to 90 minutes max and perform cardio separate from strength training. I train at least 5 to 6 days a week. I also take off an entire week from all exercises after 4 to 6 weeks of training.

Personal Information:
I live in Missouri but am in Texas for a few months. My husband is a traveling Physical Therapist contracting three to six months statewide. I bounce between Texas and Missouri. Eventually I plan to go back to school and become a Physical Therapist as well.

Other Information:
I am a retired Marine and am fortunate to devote so much time toward working out. However, I used to train early morning, work 8-10 hours and train again at night. I find retirement leads to boredom and increased snacking. It's important to balance all aspects of your life to achieve goals.

I know EXACTLY how you feel! I used to be in tip-top shape at the height of my bodybuilding acheivements. Then I decided to go to college and studying and just life in general got in the way and that all changed. I want to get back in shape again like that, but not quite as muscular.
Best of Luck to you.
